Well, he WOULD know about mental impairments…
Holy CRAP, is that really something that he said out loud?
PLEEEEEEEAAASE link to it!
Only the video does it justice (at about 2:25):
That was also my immediate thought, but then with his degree of impairment I had to consider he has zero knowledge of the condition.
America’s Dumbest Congressman, for him is not particularly insulting.
I’ve been rereading The Dead Zone and I know I’m not the first to think that Trump’s campaign makes the book much scarier.
Huh. Didn’t know Larry King was working for RT. I’ll read the occasional article on RT if it’s about fluffy bunnies or something, but wouldn’t take much else they say seriously.
Last night, [Hillary Clinton had a fundraiser where she said:

Mr. Trump read about this or heard about this and later remarked on Twitter:
:dubious:
Who exactly does Mr. Trump think this will turn away from Mrs. Clinton?
I don’t think he understands how this whole voting thing works.
Well, Washington Post is wondering if this could be a Romney 47% gaff. If 40% of Americans are leaning towards Trump, she just insulted a lot of people who aren’t racists hanging out on hate websites.
I assume 40% of Americans don’t hang out on hate sites.
She said half of his supporters.
What’s the other half’s excuse?
See that’s the difference: Mr. Romney insulted nearly half of the population of the country, while Mrs. Clinton’s comment only calls out half of the people who support Mr. Trump.
I’m curious why that wasn’t clear to you already, tho, levdrakon.
I’m already a Clinton supporter which makes me biased in her favor. I don’t feel insulted. But, I think Clinton should be careful about how many other Americans she insults. Making it us vs. them, and the cool kids vs. the losers doesn’t seem the healthiest way to win. Don’t vote for Trump or you’re a racist loser. How about trying to win over more Americans instead of writing them off and making fun of them.
Liberals have become rather elitist and smug. That’s not the liberal I want to be.
I understand what you’re saying but I think you’re way off-base with how the general public will react to this because I think you’re reacting to what you think she said rather than what she said.
The people she called out are never going to vote for Mrs. Clinton and are already engaged in “us vs. them” behaviours. She isn’t trying to win over those voters because they cannot be swayed. Her comments don’t write off anyone not already written off. And she didn’t make fun of people or ridicule anyone; not sure where that comment of yours came from TBH.
The actual people she’s talking about, the racists, sexists, etc., weren’t going to be swayed. But how many people will think she’s talking about them and take offense?
That they’re motivated by fear, not hate.
Who gives a shit if Trump supporters take offense at her comments? Let them stop hanging out with racists, sexists, etc. if they don’t want to feel tarred by the same brush.
Or do you think someone who supports Mr. Trump but isn’t racist or sexist is more likely to say “well fuck her; I’ll show them! I’m sticking with the racists!”? :dubious:
Do you think anyone who doesn’t support Mr. Trump is now more likely to do so because they will want to be known as someone who supports racism, sexism, etc.? :dubious:
I’m really tired of Democrats and supporters being all worried about insulting the extreme right. Too goddamned weak and apologetic. No wonder the right scorns them.
I’m with ya there, Chimera.
As I pointed in another thread, not talking about what is happening with the Republican party is playing in what the xenophobes, bigots and racists want to do. Normalizing them and their ideas into the political mainstream.
That is IMHO what Romney was talking about when he commented that Trump was going to make “Trickle down racism” a thing in America.
