Stupid Republican idea of the day

Yeah, Addicting Info is trash.

Sure, the people who run the site seem to generally share my political views, but it’s just clickbait and/or rehashing (often poorly or dishonestly) the actual journalism performed by other news outlets.

Is there any real evidence as to the political persuasion of the guy who shot, non-fatally BTW, Congresswoman Giffords or is that just something that righties tell each other.

It is just something RWs tell each other. Loughner was apparently all over the map, and rather big on CTs.

His politics read as generally right-wing/Libertarian. Certainly not marxist. He was a gold-bug, frex.

According to his Wikipedia page, one classmate said that he was politically left-wing prior to his radical personality shift in 2007.

Yeah, that would have been a classmate in Arizona. What does “left-wing” mean to Arizonans?

So you’re saying that he was leftwing until he descended into severe mental illness, then became a rightwinger? Huh.

Apparently it’s against the rules to say mean things about a Senator Snowflake:

Even though Chuck Schumer was criticized on the floor of the Senate just last week.

Have they not heard of the Streisand Effect? They just turned Coretta Scott King’s letter into news.

Elizabeth Warren is going to be crying all the way to the bank over this. Mitch McConnell practically wrote her a campaign slogan when he said “She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.” She’s probably already ordering a batch of fundraising kitsch with “nevertheless, she persisted” on it.

I’m ashamed of the district I grew up in. It was represented from 1947 through 1972 by Melvin Laird and then from 1973 through 2010 by David Obey when he retired. Then this asshole won and got it gerrymandered (took way Portage County) so he could keep winning.

Other coverage, GOP Rep: ‘There’s A Difference’ Between White And Islamic Terrorists (VIDEO).

Good grief.

Better yet, the Democrats followed up by having Senators Merkley and Udall read the letter, forcing Yertle Turtle to choose between repeating his objection and drawing even more attention to the issue or letting it slide and making his original objection look like sexist asshattery instead of just generic asshattery. (He chose the latter.)

Anybody else hearing this in the trailer voice ?

+1

I clicked to the page, and was appalled by the story. But finding the “video” was frustrating. (The first clickable “video” link linked back to itself!) I repost some of these videos on my own website but hunt for the YouTube version — there usually is one — rather than (as is all too typical, though not the case here: their video links to Twitter) forcing the clicker to log-in to Facebook. :smack:

An interesting historical note:

Rule Used to Silence Warren Was Created to Protect Delicate Feelings of Senate’s Foremost Lynching Advocate

The rule exists to moderate Senate debate much as this board is moderated. Just as we’re not supposed to call each other liars, Senators are supposed to not basically call each other “bad people”.

But Sessions is no longer just a Senator. He’s vieing to leave the body. Warren was perfectly right to say what she said and this is so reminiscent of how the Delay House used to run.

Ted Cruz shoves his foot so far in his mouth it comes out his ass.

Of course, since he’s fighting hard to make sure she has no coverage at all, maybe that was a hint.

 Rule XIX is specifically to prevent Senators in the Minority from insulting Senators in the Majority (or at least this is the case with a Republiopathic majority). Did you imagine the reality could be otherwise?
