Stupid Republican idea of the day

But, some folks want that banned too.

It’s all about exerting control, enforcing a false religion (dominionism plus prosperity gospel), and giving more tax breaks to rich cronies.

But you can’t get a cancer screening or an abortion at Walfuckmart, nor can you get a friendly Best Buy greeter to explain how your birth control is supposed to work or to set up your IUD, can you ? Assclown.

He said that in a town hall meeting in Neenah, WI where you can get your birth control filled at the pharmacy counter at the Pick 'n Save.

And thus the yahoo article screams outrage that “This Congressman Thinks You Can Buy Birth Control at Grocery Stores”. Which of course you can. At numerous pharmacy counters in groceries all over the country.

Pick 'n Save even has a promotion on now so you can get a $25 store credit (Limit 10 rewards for total of $250 free groceries) on your Fresh Perks card for transferring prescriptions from a competitor. Transfer birth control script, get $25 in free groceries at next purchase. Free Stuff. Yeah.

This is manufactured outraged.

You know who writes those prescriptions? You think maybe some of them are Planned Parenthood doctors?

There is plenty to get pissed about. But focusing the story headline on a non-issue is not appropriately directing one’s outrage. Focus outrage on the choke points in the delivery of care, such as access to doctors. Argue, if you wish, that Planned Parenthood is a suitable and cost effective manner of providing government funded care.

But this article focused on an area that arguably is not the problem, where to get the prescription filled. People do have difficulty finding doctors who are accepting new patients. But I’ve never heard of a pharmacy refusing new patients for anything short of reasonable suspicion of trafficking in opioids or the like.

Millions of Americans get prescriptions filled at pharmacy locations in supermarkets. Claiming that a congressman is somehow out of touch for claiming so is faux outrage.

Do you really think you can walk into a store and get birth control without a prescription?

Sure. Condoms for males. Female condoms. Foams. Suppositories. Gels. Creams. There are many OTC birth control options.

And if that fails morning after pills are OTC as well.

First of all, not every grocery store has a pharmacy. The two closest to me don’t and I live in a very urban area minutes from the border of the 6th largest city in America. If the congressman says “grocery stores,” he is going to be ridiculed, and rightly so. He wasn’t ridiculed for saying pharmacies, after all.

Second of all, even just saying “pharmacies” does not assist for what Planned Parenthood is doing. They offer condoms for free, which is helpful and to some people necessary, and they offer education, which grocery stores do not. But women have health issues which have little to to with reproductive health and everything to do with plain old health.

The article states that “a constituent calmly explained to him that her daughter receives care at Planned Parenthood because her employer doesn’t offer medical benefits. So she asks him, ‘Help me understand why you want to defund planned parenthood and please do not use abortion as an excuse’.”

Notice that not only does the question not specify what her daughter goes to Planned Parenthood for. Maybe she gets one of the more than 295,000 Pap tests and more than 320,000 breast exams in a single year that Planned Parenthood provide.

The only thing the constituent asked was that the congressman not use abortion as an excuse (she could have brought up the Hyde Amendment as a reason for this but a Congressman should know this) and yet, that’s exactly what he does before bringing up the “grocery store” remark.

Yes, you can get condoms and some other contraceptive devices at pharmacies and some grocery stores have pharmacies. But to allude that Planned Parenthood can be replaced by grocery stores is simply wrong and the Congressman’s reasoning for making the assertion is laughable. So he deserves to be laughed at.

Newton (who the f*ck names their child “Newton”?) Gingrich, says “Lock up the leakers”. This from a cocksucker who reportedly said of his first wife: “She’s not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of the President. And besides, she has cancer.”

He is currently wed to Callista “Helmut Head” Bisek, a nominee to be ambassador to the Holy See. Besides blowing the ex-congressman, she is known to blow the French horn.

He must have not heard that the leaks are Fake News anyway.

[QUOTE=Loser Donald]
Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names… …it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!

SAD!

That son of a bitch has already been run out of Washington in disgrace, once. What sort of ASSHOLES let him back in?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And after that shit with him abandoning his first wife, how the fuck does he have any right at all to spout about “values”???

Don’t forget when he was going after Bill Clinton, he was having an affair with a future wife.

I found that quote at the NY Times.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he said it. I mean, he did make sure to discuss their ongoing divorce proceedings when she was recovering from surgery in a hospital bed. (The truth of that incident, while not as salacious as some have said, it still pretty terrible.)

It might just be accurate, in that facing the grim prospect of cancer, she needed a bit of cheering up.

Texas state legislator calls ICE to round up people protesting state anti-immigrant legislation. Fights break out between members of the legislature on the floor of the state House.

There were 3 people in that graduating class. How bad would you feel, knowing that you were the only graduate who didn’t take valedictorian or salutatorian?

“Trent Lott International Airport”? Damn, how disheartening. My mind is still stuck in the day when stuff was named after people who had already died.

Here’s another bit of genius I ran across this morning. Multnomah County Republican Party Chairman James Buchal is reported as telling a local paper:

Oh, that will go over well. Because there is nowhere in history that politicians using their own private forces for ‘protection’ ever ended badly…

Idiot.
