As the waters are rising, he sees a boat come to his door, the occupants beg him to get in, to escape the flood, but once again, he declines, for god will protect him.
With the waters above his first story, and him sitting on his roof, a helicopter comes by, and the coast guard tries to get him to come with them, but he refuses, one last time, because god will protect him.
So, the waters overtake his house, and he drowns. Getting to the pearly gates, he asks god, “Why didn’t you protect me?”
God replies, “I warned you ahead of time, I sent you a car, a boat, and even a helicopter, what more did you want?”
