It depends whether you search for “Santorum” or “Rick Santorum”. The first gives you Savage’s site; the second bring up news results about Rick.
And if you look for “Rick Santorum” in Google, you get the former Senator first.
The audience they are going for won’t check and the rest of us don’t matter to them. The 30%ers will accept it as gospel because Fox said it.
Awwww, it is just so sad that mean ol’ gay guy would spead something negative in public about the gay-bashing former senator
Well, sure. Santorum is clearly the victim - who knew the mean homos would strike back?
Amazing how the rightards are always victims.

Hell, a good chunk of their audience probably don’t even know how to check. They’ll type ‘Google’ into a Word document, wait for something to happen, then give up and go back to watching O’Reilly.
Nah. The point is there’s no need to check. Fox tells them the truth. Why would they waste time on looking something up on The Liberal Web?
If nothing else, it looks like Ailes and his buddies are trying to discredit Google in advance of the election. I assume it’s to make their loyal sheep doubt the easiest way to find the answer to things like “Did Rick Perry really say that SS is unconstitutional?”

This story is about a stupid Democrat’s idea, but i’m posting it here anyway because I think we can all agree this is the kind of stupid that just plain crosses party lines;
It would take a remarkably bad Democratic idea to counterbalance 3509 posts worth of bad Republican ideas… but (and I say this as a liberal Democrat) that’s a good start.
We need a smilie for that, I guess.
But we have another thread for that! Hows Clothahump’s thread ever going to catch up if you find a stupid Democrat’s idea and put it here? He really needs all the help he can get, it’s kinda pathetic watching him try.
No objection here that’s a pretty stupid idea, even more so because she’s a Democrat. She does realize the Republicans hold the house right?
From the Noise & Disturber, here’s the full quote:
Emphasis mine. One of the more, uh, subtle uses of hyperbole that I’ve seen.
Well, you can’t go too over the top when you’re using hyperbole, you know. Gotta be careful or people might take it wrong…
You do realize that the Repubs holding the House was the point, right? It was meant to suggest a safety net to allow House Repubs the backbone to stand up to the teabaggers and Grover Norquist and do what is needed with out being worried about having to fear for thier jobs.
Thinking the House Republicans will “stand up to the teabaggers” just because they don’t have to worry about re-election is an even stupider idea.
I agree, put this in stupid Democratic ideas, or this thread will get way too complicated.
There are a number of moderate Republicans that would be far easier to work with if they did not have the Sword of Damacles hanging over their head that if they step one foot across the aisle they will be facing a bloody and vicious primary fight from the right-wing extremists. That threat is the primary thing that has given the Tea Party it’s power. If you take that away, then they can go back to being safely ignored. She just expressed this reality in a hyperbole, since it is obvious that the Republicans can no longer reel in the monster they created now that it has turned on them.
To be fair, humpy did post one legit example of Democrat stupidity in that thread. It occurred at almost the same time as Starving Artist linking to an actual valid cite and the Virginia earthquake and that hurricane that hit the eastern seaboard. For a while, I thought the end times were upon us, but since the next week didn’t bring, for example, a locust plague and gonzomax understanding how mortgages work, i figured it was all a string of coincidences.
Oh forget that. If the left was really as bad as the right, not only would we all be trying to defend it in as weaselly a way as possible, but sites like TPM, TP, and Dkos would have swept it under the rug. Yet all three mentioned it. Odd.
