I don’t think that you even need to bring in white/ex-military, as others did. The argument from the 2nd amendment absolutists seems to be that we must assume that anyone who wants to purchase somewhere between one and 1,000 weapons is a good guy/gal, right up until the moment they open fire on someone who society generally feels shouldn’t be shot (and people praying is right up there on that list, along with kids in school).
OK this last one is better expressing the notion.
Some of the other ones I found to be too damn close to ashattish gloating over a crime that involved the sort of people “we” dislike.
No, I think that’s a fairly accurate assessment. If you’re shot due to Carrying While Black, the NRA says “whoa there, let’s wait til all the facts come in!”
Certainly don’t disagree with that. It’s just that it doesn’t need to be a racial thing (although it often is), and tying it to race can lead to a shutdown by people tired of constantly being called racists (whether they are or not).
How can one not bring bigotry into it, when the typical reaction to mass shootings is:
-
Black perp: – thug;
-
Mulsim perp: radical Islamic terrorist;
-
white perp – disturbed loner.
Black perp: There’s something wrong with those people
Muslim perp: There’s something wrong with those people
White perp: He’s an outlier, there’s nothing wrong with white people in general
Once again, not disagreeing that there is a strong racist component to reporting on shootings.
I am looking forward to stories on the epidemic of white on white shootings - when are the leaders of the white community going to stand up and do something about it?
Even people who believe prayer know it doesn’t work that way.
White perp: was he radicalized by muslims while serving in the middle east?
I kid you not – that was from one of the dog-whistle Fox stations.
This is going to be hard for Fox - do we blame it on his apparent atheism, or is it because he is a Muslim? Decisions, decisions . . .
That’s bullshit and I didn’t even IMPLY that. I can’t help it if your mind goes that way.
Atheist Muslim, just like Obama.
All of this just underlines the growing cooperation of antifas and Muslims! Connect the dot, people!
Hans Fiene, who is a pastor, and a regular contributor to the The Federalist, the right-wing website founded by John McCain’s son-in-law-to-be, says that the 26 people were murdered in church because God answered their prayers.
Holy. Crap.
It’s M-F lunatics like this man who give God and religion a bad name. :smack:
Did he specify which God he worships? Kind of sounds as though it might be Cthulhu.
In which case, it all makes sense.
Texas Attorney General: This shooting shows that more people should start carrying guns to church.
I hope the NRA sent him a nice gift basket.
Praise the lord and pass the ammunition I guess.
Blessed are the Peacemakers! That’s Scripture, right there!
