Stupid Republican idea of the day

So you were. Please pardon the brainfart.

That said, it’s worth noting that the spitting-distance issue is opaque to the vast majority of them; the majority of the rest of them are convinced that if only the policies put in place and set in motion by that damned FDR would be terminated with extreme prejudice, they’d be billionaires by the following week.

ETA: IOW, what jayjay said.

No, that’s okay. I get it. Both of you are right. Most people have no idea that the estate tax has nothing to do with them. There’s a lot of stupidity going around.

As I understand it, a joint conference has to hammer out a single version of the bill, which both houses must vote on without any further amendments.

And there’s a backup if that collapses due to incompetence. If Paul Ryan can get the Senate version through the House, the Senate need not vote again.

Hilarious. And sad too.

Is the Robert Murray quoted there the same one currently engaged in a pointless defamation lawsuit against John Oliver and Last week Tonight? Because seriously - fuck that guy.

They will, however, have to draw straws to see who explains to their lords and masters that they just took away all their sweet corporate tax deductions.

The RNC is still sending out anti-Hillary screeds

If it ain’t broke…

I just stumbled on this horrifying video. Anybody who thinks the U.S. is not unusually racist for a developed country would do well to watch it. I have personally witnessed episodes similar to those depicted here.

One woman screams at someone speaking a foreign language on the grounds that “we fought for Freedom of Speech.” Freedom of Speech means we are NOT free to speak Spanish? Can anyone explain this non sequitur?

Why do I post this in the Stupid Republican thread? During the first episode, cameraman asks asshole who he voted for! This seemed hilarious — the idea that he might not be a Trump voter is absurd.

Welcome to America. :frowning:

Is there a version of that video with captions?

From Pennsylvania state Rep Daryl Metcalfe: Touching is gay, gay, gay!

Beyond belief…

Oh, no, not any more.

I knew that was going to be Ginni Thomas as soon as I saw the headline.

My favorite part of that article was the reference to O’Keefe and Hannity as “conservative thought leaders”. These are the intellectual heavyweights of American conservatism.

Here, add this guy (not E-DUB) to your list:

Who are the intellectual heavyweights of American non-conservatism? And how much influence are they having over the electoral process over the last 20 years? :dubious:

Oh yes, the blind, impartial, non-partisan Supreme Court of the United States.

Of all the unbelievable/frightening/disgusting things that have happened this year, this bothers me the most – the fact that we have justices and judges who think the likes of Hannity and Breitbart are intellectual leaders, and that Trump is appointing more of them every day.

The new rightist conspiracy theory: soy is making men feminists, which is bad.
