Stupid Republican idea of the day

Oh man, and he even doubles down on it being because they’ll vote Democratic.

Just think how they might have voted if the GOP and the Howling Yam hadn’t cheaped it out after the hurricane.

(putting an unlit cigarette into his mouth) Match me, Sidney.

Is there no Democrat in his race? CNN didn’t bother to speak to any non-Republicans.

I have found it. The stupidest Republican idea ever. The Donald J. Trump 2018 Nobel Peace Prize.

“President Trump has done something no other President has done in over 65 years. American’s [sic] are proud of him and want to send a message that says, in their eyes, Trump has already won”

I feel dumber just having read that. This thread can now be safely closed.

One Doper Dollar says the orange turd will have a fake one made, claiming he was the real winner, and will have a map of the country breaking down how Americans voted unanimously for him to win the Nobel Prize. It will be placed in front of the “real” Time Magazine cover in Mar-a-Lago.

No bet. Also at the announcement he will explain that unlike previous awards his Nobel medal is made from 24k gold.

I bet this really, really hurts poor ol’ Donald. Not looking like a doofus and blowing the chance at peace in Korea…but missing out on a Nobel Prize.

His motivation, his whole being, his raison d’etre is besting Obama. He is undoing everything Obama did. He can’t take away Obama’s Nobel, but if he could win one of his own that would be even better! Look at the clips of him at his campaign rally, when the crowd chants “Nobel! Nobel!”. That is the most genuine, widest smile I’ve ever seen on his stupid face. You know he wants it, very very badly.

Paul Ryan says America needs Catholicism

I guess Paul doesn’t read The Boston Globe.

Are you implying that a pattern of child molestation and cover-ups of said child molestation, including the moving of priests to help them evade capture and trial, is a moral failing? Surely, you must know that such primitive thinking is beneath you, and that such things in no way make the Church any less of a moral paragon! Why, you only hold such beliefs due to your upbringing in a deluded and debased society, and, now that I’ve diagnosed why you hold your ideas, those ideas have been well and ably refuted. Now admit I won or I shall act all po-faced and disappointed in how you persist in your error, which, again, refutes your criticisms utterly.

Wait…the Catholic social doctrine of social justice that Ryan himself has NEVER followed or even paid more than lip service to? The Catholic social doctrine of social justice that his entire party considers to be sinful in and of itself? THAT Catholic social doctrine of social justice? The fact that Ryan has never been struck by lightning is my greatest evidence of the non-existence of an actual God.

Yeah, and the fuckers also set fire to Joan of Arc.

What makes you think that a secret organization, covering up rampant illegal activities, and shielding its members from accountability isn’t exactly the model that Ryan has in mind?

Now that I have picked my jaw up off the floor:

My mother gets the dead-tree Grey Lady delivered daily. While at her place this week, I picked up the copy of the glossy NYT Magazine that comes in the Sunday paper and opened the cover.

Inside the cover is a full page ad for the David H. Koch Center at New York Presbyterian, where you will receive the most delightful medical care.

This is one of the instrumental fuckers who helped astroturf the Tea Party, ginning up anger over healthcare reform. And he has a medical building with his name on it. Holy fuck, how goddam disingenuous can you get?

The Koch Boys have always doled out funds to carefully selected charities, arts institutions, etc., which is better than imagining them diving into vaults of gold coins a la Scrooge McDuck. And they have never been shy about getting things named after themselves.

Hell, David Koch’s charitable foundation contributes to PBS’s Nova program, which promotes science. Not something you’d expect from a climate change denier.

It is not that clean a connection, apparently.

Dana Rohrabacher loses support from a national Realtors organization after saying realtors shouldn’t be required to sell to gay home buyers.

Republican candidate: Beyonce has ties to the Illuminati, 9/11 was an inside job.

Publix supermarkets in Florida have been strongly supporting Republican candidate for Governor Adam Putnam, who touts his NRA endorsement.
Today, Marjorie Stoneman Douglas students, led by David Hogg, did a die-in in a Publix store.
This evening, Publix announced they will stop sending money to the Putnam campaign.
