Stupid Republican idea of the day

Guys? Yuck-o-rama! Icky-palooza!

Nothing human (or apparently inhuman) is foreign to The Dope.

Night of the Iguana? One of my favorites, as well.

Roy Moore is suing Sacha Baron Cohen for his appearance on Cohen’s show, where Cohen used a “pedophile detector” on him.

Personally, I think it would have been funnier if Cohen’s “pedophile detector” didn’t beep for Moore, but then have Cohen look at the silent device in mild confusion before declaring “The batteries, I forgot to bring,” and putting it down. Having it beep pretty much ends the interview. Not having it beep maintain comic tension and lets Cohen keep the sham going.

Graham Slams Roe: Founding Fathers Didn’t Talk Abortion

Seriously? He didn’t see this backfiring???

They also didn’t discuss heart surgery, electric light and firearms that could hold more than one round at a time.

Graham may have been operating on the New Normal knowledge that a politician can say virtually any ridiculous thing, and expect to see it applauded and celebrated by about a third of the US population.

So, that means they didn’t believe life begins at conception? It’s not like abortion wasn’t a thing through out human history. If they thought it was important, surely they would have mentioned it.

Republican candidate for Congress says her opponent can’t be called Native American because she didn’t grow up on a reservation.

It’s like an overwhelming need to be racist/stupid. They just can’t help it.

Morons.

Neither did Pocahontas (the real one) and even Trump acknowledges she’s Native American.

Brett Kavanagh said he grew up in “in a city plagued by gun violence and gang violence and drug violence”. He grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, which, in 2014, was the wealthiest town in the country. He attended Georgetown Prep High School, which has its own on-campus golf course.

Interesting. I wonder if people who’ve known Kavanaugh for years would testify that he’s always been prone to bending the truth to enhance his image, or if this is a new thing. (I guess it would endear him to Trump…)

I doubt that the Trump base is particularly fond of Senator Graham. They suspect that, late at night, he enjoys dressing up in ladies’ clothing and regarding himself in the tall mirror.

I am trying to picture Ted Cruz wolfing down a bucket of popcorn just before a debate, and am failing. It just seems too wholesome. A bucket of baby white mice, I can see.

Kavanaugh also attended Yale College as an undergraduate, several years behind me. I wish I had still been there when he matriculated, to pull his freshman beanie down over his eyes, give him wedgies and Indian burns, and deny him entry to Skull and Bones.

I think you’re right, but he may still cherish ambitions of being raised to High Office (should a vacancy occur in, say the Department of Justice) by Trump, despite his (Graham’s) image. They say that if you flatter Trump solicitously enough and say things that advance his current projects, Trump will respond positively to that groveling.

(And after all, he has to appoint someone to the job, and Senators usually have a better chance of getting the votes in the Senate.)

Senator Graham has been groveling mightily recently, but there are still all those 2015-16 tapes of him calling Trump “unhinged,” “goofy,” and “unfit for office.” Trump holds grudges forever, so Graham will eventually experience a Romney-sized awakening.

True enough. Trump has elevated people who aren’t very servile to him, but I think it’s true that none of them had publicly criticized him before they got those jobs.
