Stupid Republican idea of the day

Two Republicans went to the field office for the re-election campaign of Democratic Congressman Tom O’Halleran to give his campaign a contribution. But they wanted the receipt made out to the “Northern Arizona University Communist party”. When they didn’t get what they wanted, they left.
A worker for the campaign drove over to the local Republican Party offices to return the money and was met by one of the two “Communists”.

McCarthy introduces bill to fully fund Trump’s border wall

My bold.

$23.4 BILLION?? Yeah, that’s a really good use of the money. No other needs in the country are more pressing that this magic wall. *Magic *because the Pubs think it will stop the Blue Wave. Fuck disaster relief, health care, reuniting immigrant children with their parents. Those are all things that affect POOR people, so no prob.

As for “where to cut”? Gee, <scratches head> where-oh-where can we cut to come up with $23.4 billion?

Not to mention ladders and/or shovels.

Interesting. They’re not in the novel, but I gather the TV series (which I haven’t seen) has had to invent new horrors.

If Flake is pretending he had no idea there would be partisan rejoicing, then he’s a manipulative, lying twit. If he’s not pretending–if he’s genuinely shocked–then he’s too stupid to hold public office.

I’ll say. How can young white supremacist children and teens yell “go back behind The Wall!” to non-whites if there’s no wall??!!?!?

The lack of a wall with which white supremacists can taunt non-whites is the NUMBER ONE PROBLEM facing white supremacists today. Twenty-three billion dollars (plus) is truly a small price to pay to remedy this grievous deficiency.

Nice to see my state come to the plate and take a swing at stupid:

Then he apologized, showing he has failed to learn the Lesson of Trump.

The candidate has said he didn’t mean it literally. As if a Republican would use a metaphor.

Maybe it was, like, an analogy?

I really wish Jeff Flake would just shut the hell up - Goddamn, what a fucking pathetic, spineless wuss that guy is.

No - good - Republicans.

Not true.

I present to you John Smith, he’s from back east.

He is a great guy, generous, loving, caring, also, a registered republican.

Unfortunately, back in 1980, while contemplating the differences between a further carter administration and a potential reagan one, he fell off a ladder and hit his head.

He is still in a coma. I have nothing against him.

Enemy of free speech fined $30k for trying to silence political speech he didn’t like.

I was just coming to post that one myself.

You can’t just grab someone else’s property from them, when they’re doing something totally legal in a place where they have every right to be. How is that not a fucking crime?

Lock him up! Lock him up!

It’s Okay When Republicans Do It

US Senate candidate from Minnesota compares Michlle Obama to a chimp.

It’s amazing that posting a person’s own Facebook post is somehow “attacking them”

Notice how anybody to the left of Attila the Hun is the radical left?

Eh, if they’re not a public figure there’s definitely something to be said for signal-boosting as doxxing… But this fucker’s a politician. They’re running to represent a state. If they said something shitty, let the whole fuckin’ world know about it.

I think movements like the Proud Boys are the ones to watch. I’ve been wondering when right wing thuggery would start to approach the mainstream, and it appears to be taking a few steps in that direction.

I suspect we’ll be seeing a proliferation of groups like Proud Boys, containing some elements of skinhead-ism, but without the skinheads. More like frat boys with handle-bar mustaches and tattoos. The Unite the Right thugs like the ones who appeared in Charlottesville, while indeed menacing, aren’t the ones I fear as much as the frat boys who have connections, whose fathers and grandfathers are retired lawyers or judges with country club memberships.

That article is pretty interesting, but this quote: “Have any of you ever said or done anything which, if signal-boosted, would be very embarrassing and might prevent you from getting a job?” is telling.

Sure, maybe I have. But not on a world-accessible public forum.

But anyway, I agree, people running for elected office are fair game, IMHO.
