For years I thought it meant an ineffectual, lightweight sort of person. Several years ago there was a piece in the New Yorker that made a reference to the true meaning, and light dawned.

Yeah, I’ve gotten at least two of those, festooned with bullshit “Official Document, Do Not Discard” notations. I’m a little unclear as to how the RNC got the notion that I’m some sort of steadfast supporter. I’m perfectly clear on the degree of contempt they apparently have for their own constituents.
