Stupid Republican idea of the day

Depends, is it a taxing tablespoon or a spending tablespoon ?

1976, actually, according to Roger Martin author of a book, Fixing the Game, about the shareholder revolution and its implications:

He says that since then, company management has focused on the “expectations game” of managing the markets’ expectations of performance as reflected in the stock price. He compares this to a football coach betting on his team’s performance against the spread.

ETA: Although the article refers to this practice as the “dumbest idea in the world” I don’t think it’s a dumb Republican idea, nor is it really timely. Just continuing the tangential conversation.

The stupid part is that he seems to have made a significant success of his business after he left school, so fudging his academic credentials looks like a petty and pointless exercise. Own it, dude.

Heh - I said “fudging”.
ETA: He’s changed the website now.

Meet Mike O’Neal, (R), speaker of the state senate.

“A Kansas Republican leader under fire for sending an email invoking a bible verse to suggest that Democratic President Barack Obama’s “days be few in number” apologized on Thursday but said that he would not resign.”
He says he was just referring to political longevity, not advocating assassination of the Pres.
The article later notes: The following verse reads, “May his children be orphans and his wife a widow.”
Moron redux…

This reminds of the comedian Dom Irrera who had a bit about Italians negating anything bad they might say about someone by adding a disclaimer at the end such as, “That guy is a lowlife scumbag motherfucking asshole! Oh, I don’t mean that in a bad way…”

Bless his heart.

He means well. . . .

Well, here’s a new one on me.

Black, Tea Party leader Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson:

It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that Republican stupidity knows no color or race. Republican stupidity is a really fucking big tent.

Wow, and Republicans claim black Democrats are brainwashed. Unbelievable – it is not more or less than a return to slavery.

I think this pretty much sums up the Rev. Peterson:

Is it really “forming” if you’re the only member?

I am sure he got a lot of drop-in interest. The 'hood thought it was a new medical marijuana dispensary.

HE says he agrees with Newt, but even Newt wouldn’t go this far (though he might secretly want to).

That’s the THC Party, down by the hammock district.

Mike Huckabee, some people’s definition of a reasonable conservative:

And, of course, right now it’s not Obama clamoring to see the tax returns, it’s Romney’s primary opponents.

You need student loans to go to elementary school?

In Kenya?

I think he means whether he applied for college loans and listed himself as a foreign national rather than a US citizen. Of course, we’re clearly in la-la land here, so maybe he wants to know if Obama borrowed money to go to school on Mars.

Oh Jesus, don’t give them any ideas.

Mike Huckabee’s comment reminds me of that line from the old Steve Martin “What I Believe” routine: “…I believes in seven of the Ten Commandments…”

I wonder if Huckabee attends “Bearers of False Witnessing Anonymous.” Probably not–who would believe him?

Bless his heart.
