Stupid Republican idea of the day

I dunno about that, but I’m pretty sure Gingrich had some harsh mistresses.

I predict this will show up on the Daily Show next week. Stewart’s flunkies hang out here, I am sure of it.

That sounds like Heinlein Seussified.

Palin admits she is just a troll:

She’s even dumber than I thought, which I didn’t believe was possible. Voting for Newt in the primaries will absolutely delight liberals. Easy pickings come November.

Palin? “…rage against the machine…”? What next, Romney quoting Zappa?

I suppose we should at least act like we are annoyed, just to keep up appearances.

Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me !

Should be the automatic answer to that statement. But I doubt all that many hip, cool, with it Palin supporters are too fond of RATM for some reason.

Focus on the Family, with a pocketful of shells.

With the thoughts from a militant mind, hardline hardline after hardline.

He can’t have them.

This was less funny when I realized I hadn’t actually had to change any lyrics to make it sound Palinesque.

Surely this one counts, right? Or are we still pretending Tea Party =/= Republican? Tea Party group asks TN lawmakers to re-write slavery to highlight the positive side.
Slavery is of course portrayed in the textbooks nowadays I’m sure as a totally negative thing. Had there not been slavery in the south, the economy would’ve fallen
But they’re not racist, of course.

Isn’t that self-demonstrably wrong, considering the economy didn’t fall after the slaves became free (for a relative amount of freedom) ? It’s also a repulsive concept in and of itself, since it puts the economy (and wealth) of landowners above the well-being of fellow humans. But hey, a buck’s a buck, right ?

But the best part has to be that “I’m sure” bit. Guy didn’t even bother checking the most elementary of facts before forming a counter-opinion. That’s bold.

Is there a contest for stupidest Republican idea or something, because it seems lately that Tennessee is trying to win…

A followup:

Her plan is for the primary to run long enough for all of the candidate’s negative ratings to rise up to the level of hers, so she can jump in the race at the last minute. It’s just the break she’s been waiting for!

WOOT! First we claim the title of “Most Meth Labs” and now “Stupidest Republican Ideas.” WE’RE NUMBER ONE!!

Another update in the tale of Tennessee state Sen. Stacey Campfield: He has written a post on his blog claiming that the restaurant owner was rude to him and comparing his ejection to Jim Crow era racial segregation.

Addendum: This guy also tried to join the state Black Caucus, comparing them to the Ku Klux Klan when they rejected him.

That’s a totally legitimate response (except for possibly the comment on rudeness). The restaurant owner was quoted as saying he wanted the guy to understand how it felt to be discriminated against.

The owner was almost certainly wrong if he thought the guy would learn anything positive from it.
