Having spent time around old people, a lot of them suffer from a cognitive dissonance that allows them to separate themselves from those other old people. “I’m not like THOSE people, they’re old. I may be the same age as them but I’m still with it and capable!” It truly is “whistling past the graveyard.”

The Democratic Governor of Kansas is suing the Republican leadership of the legislature for overruling her executive order shutting down churches.
How, exactly, does a panel of legislators override the Governors executive order? How do they wield any power whatsoever to effect that?

In his last few days as Governor of Kentucky, Matt Bevin pardoned lots of people. One of them was Dayton Jones, who had been convicted of sexually assaulting a teenaged boy. Well, Mr. Jones has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Not to defend this guy in any way, but the new charges appear to be about the same incident. They basically charged him with another count for the original incident which could sent him back to prison for 15 years. It sounds like the DA was NOT happy with him going free.
One of the reasons that they weren’t happy with Jones release was that the child involved almost died from a perforated bowel due to the incident, and had to undergo emergency surgery the next day to save his life.
Ron De Santis is contemplating reopening Florida schools because “nobody under 25 has died.”

If Trump boots Fauci, I thing Gov. Cuomo should immediately hire him.
Or the sensible governors collectively (Cuomo, Newsom, DeWine, etc.) could hire him to work collaboratively with all of them.
