Stupid Republican idea of the day

Oh, please do pay attention. The father of the modern Republican Party is quoted, “*The scariest words you will ever hear are *‘I’m from the Government and I’m here to help you’.”

Which is to say, the goal of the republiopaths is to destroy the government. They want it to fail. They are doing everything they can to topple it, to demonstrate to us all how truly bad government [del]is[/del] can be (while molesting it of as much gelt as they can). Why do you think the glibertopian teabaggers found such a warm welcome amongst the Rs?

I mean, I do have some serious issues with the Democrats, but at least they are not actively trying to ‘Og smash’ everything within reach.

And they want it to fail so they can grab everything of value within reach, with no resistance or oversight.

Rick Scott:
“The government of New York has never sent a dime – while I’ve been up there in D.C. – to the federal government.”

The Republican Party is suing California to prevent vote by mail in November

That’s just it – they’re perfectly fine with large government so long as it’s aimed at somebody they don’t like, e.g. the Face-eating Leopard party.

Democrats, on the other hand are fine with large government so long as the right people get elected. As recent history has shown, this does not always happen.

Voldemort is correct. The government of New York doesn’t send money to the federal government. The taxpayers of New Yorkers do. But suffice it to say that they send more money to DC than the taxpayers of, say Kentucky. Or for that matter, Florida.

Douchebag.

So about June 5[SUP]th[/SUP], plus or minus a couple of days each way, we should start seeing a real spike in infections.

TFP.

No worries. I’m sure that the GOP has a plan for when infections and death rates climb again. Probably a couple of plans:

  1. It’s not happening, fake news
  2. It’s the fault of the Democrats

In fact, they will probably use both of these excuses simultaneously, without noticing a contradiction. They’re special that way.

Short bus special.

And you forgot 3. Benghazi!

  1. Her emails!
  2. Pizzagate!

Republicans prepare legislation to strip Twitter of legal liabilities.

… and all they say is “how high?” as their feet leave the ground. :smack:

…which, ironically, would force Twitter’s hand in blocking Loser Donald’s incitement of violence since they’d be legally responsible for the content of his posts.

Congratulations, Matt Gaetz! You’re a colossal moron.

Out of curiosity, can’t Twitter just move it’s HQ or where it’s registered as a company to some other country and then tell the US Government to go to hell?

A Pennsylvania GOP lawmaker was positive with CoVID-19, yet attended legistlature and demanded re-opening. The PA GOP lawmakers knew he was positive and elected not to tell the Democrats.

If you can, watch Sims outrage on Facebook. He is rightly angry.

I just saw this on Twitter and was coming here to post about it.

And people wonder why liberals look at the Republicans with disgust. This is appalling.

I saw that last night - “angry” doesn’t half cover it. Apparently one of the other Democrats has a spouse that is immunocompromised and is thus at risk because her husband was repeatedly exposed to the virus. Meanwhile, various Republicans self-quarantined after finding out.

This isn’t a “stupid” Republican idea; it’s an outright evil one. They are weaponizing the virus.

That’s nothing short of terrorism.

And it was accomplished with the cooperation - the collusion - of every single Republican in the PA House.

Emphasis mine.

This whole situation is bad, but your first sentence makes it sound much worse than it is. You seem to be implying that he attended the legislature AFTER his positive diagnosis, and there is absolutely no evidence for that anywhere in the linked story, or in the video.

In fact, the video says that Lewis’s last day attending the Capitol was May 14, two days BEFORE he noticed symptoms, four days before he was tested, and six days before his positive test results came back. He also notes that, when he was there on the 14th, he wore a mask, shook no hands, and the place was virtually deserted anyway. You can’t blame the guy for going there BEFORE he even developed symptoms; the possibility of symptom-less infection is just one of the unfortunate realities of this virus.

The failure to tell the Democrats AFTER the diagnosis is another matter altogether.
