Stupid Republican idea of the day

Actually given the cluelessness of the Republicans regarding song lyrics, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was used as the theme song of their own convention.

Now Atkin’s pleading for 'giveness.

I’m sure the Gerd-Fearing folks of the Show Me state who support Atkins will proclaim Jebus’s Love is all encompassing and will forgive brother Atkins for his transgressions 'o ignorance; after all, no harm done, right?

God bless his lit’l ol the-slut-was-asking-for-it heart.

Without bothering to seek the approval of Jefferson Starship, of course.

But, not a word about how women who’ve been raped really should be able to get an abortion, right?

He’s still not admitting that he was full of shit with his little confirmation-biased laden claim, just that he used “the wrong words in the wrong way.” I wonder what words he meant to use and how he meant to use them to claim that only woman who get really, really raped might get pregnant.

No. The reason why is that, in context, his quote would make no sense.
He’s not speaking about what a woman claims to a doctor in order to secure an abortion. He’s stating that a woman’s body automatically knows whether it’s been raped or not and if that woman has been “legitimately” raped, the chances of her becoming pregnant are virtually zero.
Your explanation is not what he meant within the interview he gave. But it is what allows him to sleep at night because he can then rationalize from this that anyone seeking an abortion could not have been raped. It is an impossibility for Akin. Therefore, the rape exception is a non-issue because the only women who would seek to use it are women who are lying about being raped.

Er, I mean, wont get pregnant … or the ones who aren’t really, really, um, not raped … oh fuck it … you know what I meant.

Sure. Your plaque of appreciation is mounted down in the quarry.

lol

You can’t forgive stupid.

So the party that’s against wasteful spending just spent $2.5 on one single stage.

Got it.

They’re still trying

Reince Preibus says GOP platform is not Romney’s platform

Translation: Even though the party hates women, Mitt Romney doesn’t! So vote for him! Just ignore the rest of the little people behind the curtain…

He probably feels compelled to mention this in light of the fact that the RNC’s response to the Akin flap was to add a line to the platform demanding a constitutional amendment banning abortion, with no rape exception.

I can forgive stupid, I think we pretty much have to. But stupid and mean, nope.

Now to be known as “the Akin-Ryan Clause”.

Let me guess - you used the wrong words in the wrong way?

Too bad Michael Hunt doesn’t hold national office.

Wouldn’t it have been great for Santorum to get the nomination?

“Akin 4 Santorum 2012”

Akin’s supporters are offended, but not enough to vote for someone else. This will blow over in a couple of weeks.

Akin and his constituents are very comfortable with not asking hard questions which result in a nebulous answer. That would lead to doubt. And doubt would lead to a loss of faith. A loss of faith would lead to evolution. Evolution would lead to pillaging, looting and…well, it’s likely to be consensual anyway.
