Stupid Republican idea of the day

Thanksgiving is going to be awkward at the Smith household this year.

So Tomorrow the Republicans have scheduled to speak one Sher Valenzuela, a businesswoman, who has a thriving 40 employee business in Delaware called First State Manufacturing. The title of her talk? “We Built Meant” meant to offer a stunning rebuttal of Obama’s “You didn’t build that” quote.

She has indeed been very successful, successful at using the government funds and resources at her disposal to make her comapny a true success:

What isn’t clear to you? I mean, either way, the girl is ruined, right? Certainly no decent man is going to want her – as a wife, or as a daughter.

I think the hilarious part was that he was drawing a similarity…from the perspective of the father.

So he’s asking you to, what, put yourself in the position of the rapist? Saying that the unmarried father of a child is like a rapist, or that a rapist is just an unwitting father of a random child? I don’t even understand what he was trying to say.

No, he was talking about the perspective of A father, implying his perspective as her father. Doesn’t change the fuckuppedness of his comment, but I don’t think he was talking about the rapist as the father.

Oh, okay. I see it now. I still don’t see those situations as being analogous though. Your daughter has a baby with her boyfriend, vs. your daughter gets pregnant by her rapist, and your response as a father is the same? Either child-out-of-wedlock is disproportionately bad in your mind, or you’re not quite grasping the concept of rape baby.

In this man’s view, both children are tainted with evil sin.
Of course, many of that ilk believe ALL babies are tainted with sin.

Perhaps, he is just imagining how embarrassing the whole thing would be to the father of the woman.

“We Built Meant?”

What is this, I don’t even…

Would you settle for a bacon candle?

BTW, I found a couple of places selling bacon incense, but have no idea how reputable any of them are:

From the perspective of this particular father, I think it means that obviously his innocent and pure as the driven snow daughter wouldn’t have premarital sex so her boyfriend must have raped her. There’s just no other explanation. At least in his mind. And yes, he’s a putz.

Even if by any stretch of logic he’s right that from the woman’s father’s POV, it doesn’t matter whether the inseminator is a rapist or a boyfriend (and really, is there even a difference from his POV?), it surely makes a difference to the daughter.

Luckily for Dad, since she’s not yet married, he owns her and can make all the right decisions for her regardless of her childish ideas.

I prefer the earlier interpretation, that a father whose daughter has a child out of wedlock is pretty much a rapist.

James O’Keefe will skip the Republican convention and guest of honor/guest speaker at a ‘free market’ luncheon because of “government restrictions.”

He didn’t say what those restictions are… yet.

The message on his website says “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the guest speaker for our luncheon, James O’Keefe, will not be able to personally attend JMI’s event tomorrow,” read the statement. “However, he will participate via Skype with both remarks and a robust Q & A session. Come hear why the federal government has revoked permission for him to travel to Tampa.”

I didn’t think travel restrictions due to probation could be fairly called ‘government restrictions on travel’, but then, I’m not a right wing nut case.

And unforseen? I guess if you have a low IQ. He (and 3 friends) got 3 years probation for breaking in to United States Senator Mary Landrieu and tampering with her phones in January 2010.

The charges in the case were reduced from a felony to a single misdemeanor count of entering a federal building under false pretenses and given three years’ probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,500 fine.

The link is from a Fox affiliate, so I would at first assume it is not true, but this one has the smell of truth:

Maine Republicans elected their delegates, but because the delegates may not vote for Romney, they are now banned from the convention. AND, rules changes will allow the Party to refuse seats to any state that won’t vote the way the GOP says they should in future elections. AND, Romney’s campaign lawyers instigated this change but Romney denies knowing anything about it.

All of this is to block the Ron Paul supporters.

It makes complete sense. Premarital sex = rape.

That’s why the Bible says we should stone rape 'victims."

Clarification: The cancellation message is on the James Madison website, not O’Keefe’s. http://www.jamesmadison.org/press-room/2012-aug27-event-update-tampa-lunch-with-james-okeefe.html

Yes, but the Texas delegates are revolting.

And they’re protesting the rule changes, too.

The Republicans might not be stupid, just needing “cognitive closure.”

Basically, a new study says that the Right tend to bend reality to fit their moral view because ambiguity makes them feel oogy.

That sounds painful…

LOL- I knew someone was gonna get me for that. Darned gotcha media (that would be you in Palinspeak)!
