Stupid Republican idea of the day

Do I what?

Dreams From my Father is a very good book. It is not a political autobiography, since it was written before Barack Obama had begun his political career, and tells the story of his life up to when he attended law school. It is primarily a story about forming an identity while growing up bi-racial and fatherless.

The job title would also be capitalized when you’re referring specifically to the title (“President of the United States”).

Again thanks to the wonderful Rachel Maddow for this.

After Romney’s tape excerpt came out, he said that he wanted the full tape released, so people could see the context.

It’s now out, and we see that he not only has contempt for half the electorate, but he doesn’t know the difference between a nuclear bomb and a dirty bomb.

Best of all, after criticizing Obama for failure to lead in solving the crises in the Middle East, he reveals his plan for solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: “We sort of live with it. And we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately somehow, something will happen to resolve it.”

I accept in advance the apologies of everyone who said he never gives specifics.

Thank you. I may read it.

So, in the section quoted - did he come to accept his grandfather?

Especially when you are sending the nameplate out for engraving.

Maddow? Credit goes to Mother Jones (magazine).

Romney doesn’t send out engraving jobs. He owns his own engraving company. He keeps it in a basement of one of his mansions.

Pat Buchanan calls the President “a drug dealer of welfare”.

Anybody want to start a betting pool on the name and date of the first one of these guys to slip and say “nggr” on camera? (Admittedly, we need to come up with a definition of who is sufficiently “respectable” to qualify as one of “these guys” to distinguish them from the element that is already doing so.

How to torment the American Right:

Have them nominate a candidate too stupid to know that alienating 47% of the electorate across all party lines 45 days before an election assures a Loss.

The cherry on top?

You Paid For It All Folks!
(… and not at bargain basement prices either.)

The big screen at Romney headquarters where the returns come in ought to bear a big “WE BUILT THAT” banner. :stuck_out_tongue: :smack:

This seems to have been page 1 in the new Republican playbook: when bad things happen, own them and see what happens.

Will I what? Oh baby, you know what I like! Heh heh heh heh …

Which got it from James Carter IV, grandson of President Jimmy Carter.

Credit goes to MJ for posting the entire video, which I don’t have the time or patience to watch. Credit, from me at least, goes to Maddow for airing short excerpts I found very interesting.

Okay. But MJ didn’t just post the whole video - it located the source of the video and got him/her to agree to release it (despite the possibility the source could be prosecuted for it.) Maddow just has a big show that you happen to watch. Just giving journalistic credit where it’s due.

Carter helped, but he wasn’t the source. MJ negotiated directly with the source too. Partial credit to him.

I’m sure this is old news, but there are right-wingers posting many bizarre things on YouTube. The first link is a FoxNews segment denouncing Obama for reading Harry Potter to his daughters. The second link (which must be just anti-right satire, right?) shows Bill Clinton speaking on FoxNews, but slowed down 20x and with a cartoon figure superimposed – it proves Clinton is reptilian.

I did not go to YouTube looking for right-wing jokes. I was looking for 1930’s movies, came to The House of Rothschild (1934), which was just one click away from OBAMA; THE ROTHSCHILDS CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT, and so on…

It’s not surprising given that Republicans don’t approve of people reading:

Admittedly I’m assuming that they were reading material relevant to work rather than, say, Fifty Shades of Grey.

Is he complaining because employees are sitting around reading and not working?
