Holy the shit.
I just ducked into this thread for a look around but it’s way too scary in here for me. I’m out.

It gets worse - check the results of the poll next to the article.
And yet, maybe there is hope.
Some of the responses were pretty good.
To hell with Wiseman and his unAmerican, unChristian, and stupid remarks. He ain’t shit anyway, just some mayor, of someplace I don’t give a damn about.
But the best one was:
“Russell is a hero! While many of us bigots realize that we are a dying lot, and that we should keep our old-fashioned and ignorant opinions to ourselves, Russell speaks out loudly, and proudly, for racists and bigots that are in the closet and too afraid to make their opinions known. Go Russell!”
Expect him to be reelected in a landslide next election.

That was some Grade A snark, right there.
Proud to be a bigot, eh?
sigh
I think you got wooshed.
… pssst … I think it’s sarcasm … don’t tell anyone else …
Oh, I see. Then everything is wrapped up in a neat little package.
Yeah, I was entertining the possibility that this was sarcasm, but I also wasn’t ruling out the possiblity that this was completely truthful.
“Never underestimate the stupidity of the American public” is my motto. I will bet you $100 there are people out there who are genuinely proud to be called a “bigot” “because, dang it, whats I believed back when I was a young 'un just isn’t proper nowadays. And if that makes me a bigot, suh, then I’m a bigot.”
Oh man, I was thinking it was Arlington, VA, and worried that the stupid had got so far north. I’m relieved.
I’ve been away for a bit.
Yes, it was sarcasm. No, it was not sarcasm when I said that Russell will likely be reelected in a landslide.

I can’t decide if these particular conservatives are Stupid or Very, Very Smart. Who knows? It could work.
Cite.
Seems these tea partiers found Rep. Perriello’s office way too inconvenient a location. They felt impeded in their attempts to “speak out publicly and address their government representatives on the important issues of the day” as guaranteed by the First Amendment, although nothing was stopping them from protesting and rallying on a nearby sidewalk. And they could have actually gone into his office and talked to him, but it appears that’s just not how the tea party rolls.
Another cite.
Maybe Perriello can help them out by setting up special areas nearby where they can protest. Call them … oh, … I don’t know … something catchy and slightly patriotic sounding. How about “Free Speech Zones?”
Nah. You’re right. That’s stupid.
I can see their point, apparently Periello’s office is at the top of a mountain that can only be accessed with the help of local sherpas and require three weeks acclimation at a base camp. And don’t even get me started on his hollowed out volcano lair.
Okay, that one’s too awesome to be stupid.
Their sniper can’t get a line of sight either.
They might consider hiring a guide. I know a governor who’s into hiking.
There’s a big difference between the gentle, rolling hills of the Appalachian mountains and the steep, sharp inclines of…well, where ever it is that you’d need sherpas (Nepal?) but if there are pretty teabaggers there, he might give it a go.
Sherpa women are sturdy and much given to the use of yak butter to enhance their, ah, allure.
