A Texas Tea Party leader says that
Wow, honesty from a tea bagger?
How come it is that a black person gets to vote nine times? And for a Democrat every time!
Answer me that, smartass liberal! Now, git! If you’re not over the border or in Austin by sundown, its your ass!

One would think the chairperson of a major party in a big state would be a bit smarter than to say that.
I’m sorry…have you MET the Republicans?
I don’t think you understand his math. Blacks get 10 votes, then split them 9–1 in favor of the Democrats.
Wait… Not so long ago McCain was telling us openly gay people serving in the military would be the huge problem. I’m so confused.
Republicans still hunting for the corpse of ACORN to see if they can kill it again. Reality isn’t really something these people like dealing with is it?
I think you’re mischaracterizing what McCain said and meant. I’m not a fan of his, but fair is fair and he in no way suggested that the military should not have women in it’s ranks.
In fact, the whole point of the hearing he was taking part in was to acknowledge that there is a problem, that it’s ongoing, and that efforts in the recent past were insufficient and need to be re-addressed.
There’s plenty of stupid (and sexist and primitive and vile) things that Republicans say; this isn’t one of them.
To further clarify:
[
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., a Navy veteran of Vietnam, said a woman came to him the previous night and said her daughter wanted to join the military. She asked McCain if he could give his unqualified support to her.
“I could not,” McCain said. “I cannot overstate my disgust and disappointment over the continued reports of sexual misconduct in our military. We’ve been talking about the issue for years, and talk is insufficient.”

:smack:Why didn’t I see that Obama was trying to re-enslave blacks?! It’s so obvious now that she’s pointed it out.
Gotta say, for all the stupid of the slavery thing, I’m more fond of the insinuation that *Obama *is at the heart of wealth disparity in the US. The socialist bastard !

the Republican Party doesn’t want black people to vote if they’re going to vote 9-to-1 for Democrats.[/end quote]
Whoa, the Tea Party and the Republican Party are the same?? I thought they were independent of each other. :smack:
Now if only 3/5ths of each black vote counted?
Of course you’d have to reduce a state’s population by 3/5ths for blacks as well which would hurt their House membership representation.
Perhaps a compromise is in order.

One would think the chairperson of a major party in a big state would be a bit smarter than to say that.
The 193 pages of this thread says otherwise.

I think you’re mischaracterizing what McCain said and meant. I’m not a fan of his, but fair is fair and he in no way suggested that the military should not have women in it’s ranks.
This. In fact, McCain probably ought to be applauded (for once) for taking the position he did and not reflexively defending the military.
“At its core, this is an issue about defending basic human rights but it’s also a long-term threat to the strength of our military. We have to ask ourselves: if left uncorrected, what impact will this problem have on recruitment and retention of qualified men and women?” McCain asked. “I cannot overstate my disgust and disappointment over continued reports of sexual misconduct in our military. We’ve been talking about this issue for years and talk is insufficient.”
That’s not a new story, but…
You know what always cracks me up about stories like this? I’m guessing that this guy’s customers in OK are mostly (if not entirely) not Jewish. Yet they exhibit what Johnson believes to be Jewish behavior by attempting to negotiate a better price. What’s next? They’ll start wrapping tefillin and keeping two sets of dishes.
Then if Mr. Johnson is wise, he’ll start selling dishes at his business. He should welcome people who try to negotiate on price; he’ll make it up on VOLUME!
Reagan may be dead, but his legacy lives on:
Civil rights groups have filed an ethics complaint against a Texas federal court judge after allegations that she made discriminatory remarks about racial minorities during a February speech.
The complaint filed against Edith Jones, a judge on the Fifth Circuit Appeals Court, claims that at a speech at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Jones said that “racial groups like African-Americans and Hispanics are predisposed to crime.”
Jones also allegedly justified death sentences because they provide a public service by allowing inmates to “make peace with God.”
Those remarks violated the code of conduct for federal judges, according to the complaint…

Oh my God! I thought “jew” as a verb was just a thing lazy Hollywood writers used to show us that some character is a jerk, so he could be taught A LESSON.
I had no idea any real people ever did that! It’s kind of like finding out that ‘gangsta sideways pistol shooting’ thing is real!
