Stupid Republican idea of the day

No need to be redundant.

Senator Orrin Hatch explained the Bush years very well yesterday when he justified to the press why he was unwilling to support a deficit neutral health care bill now when not so many years ago under Bush the senate supported the medicare expansion bill that increased the deficit. I can’t make this stuff up

‘back then it was standard practice not to pay for things’

So when Republicans are in charge their standard practice is to rack up debt. Yeah vote Republican!

The Washington Post (reporting on an appearance on the Today Show.)

Yep, we’ve too many rights in this country, too many. Those stupid Amendments keep getting in the way of justice … we’d all be better off without them.

Fucker.

I don’t see anything inconsistent about trying a civilian arrested by civilian law enforcement for trying to blow up a civilian airliner which he embarked and disembarked from at a civilian airport in a military tribunal.

Trial?? What is this ‘trial’ they speak of? Waterboarding followed by ‘accidental’ death in custody is the American Way.

You know, way back when, there were some people who asserted that this was a very, very bad idea and would entail such ghastly consequences as we have seen. Clearly, such people are wise, prescient, and intelligent, and should be accorded special respect and recognition. Even if they are, like, dirty fucking hippies!

Just sayin’, is all.

How about a two-fer from Peter King? (R - Dumber Than a Box of Rocks)

Because you see, some mope burning his genitals off is EXACTLY the same as a hurricane wiping out a major American city. Exactly the same!

Does Oily Titz count?

Yeah, but we’ve already got two threads for her.

Here is a cartoon that kind of illustrates the crazy that is this thread:

And the best part? There was so much Republican crazy this year that this cartoon is only Part 1.

Part 2, for your enjoyment:

Peter Griffin: Ah! I can handle ugly, but this is like circus ugly.

Good thing there’s a bunch of hate-blinded jesus freaks giving the GOP constant reacharounds - otherwise they might stop and see who they’re actually voting for.

She does look like an exhibit of Madame Tussaud’s walked out the front door, doesn’t she ?

Madame Tussaud’s sculptures are lifelike.

I already posted both of those in post #999.

Well, its all in the delivery, the timing, like that… Some people have a knack for posting links, and some don’t.

Giuliani says we had no domestic terrorist attacks under Bush 43.

Giuliani.

My world has just been turned upside down.

What is it with these Republicans repeating this shit? It’s literally like they’re tring to say the sky is green and the grass is blue. Do they think people will believe them? Giuliani, of all people, no longer remembers 9/11?

According to the mediamatters link, he said this on Stephanopolis’s show. Did Stephanopolis all him on this? Has anyone ever called any of these jackasses (Matalin, Perino and Giuliani that I know of have now repeated this howler) on this shit?

So not just the 'lesson of 9/11", but 9/11 itself.
These Republicans are trying to make history conform to their vision.
Likely, they’ll succeed with much of the base.
