Stupid Republican idea of the day

Pretty amusing coming from a living pile of compost.

More akin to toxic waste. Compost is usually beneficial.

Erm, you know, Glenn, fighting global warming, existent or not, is not the only reason for reducing your operation’s energy consumption or non-recycleable-waste generation. There are other environmental reasons . . . and, it is also a money-saver in some ways. Good capitalist reason, that. You’re really spiting your face, here.

With that face, I don’t blame him.

Hmm, new market?

Let make a new line of conservative products: not only is nothing recycled, nothing energy efficient, and nothing environmental friendly, everything is in fact the opposite. Paper bags made from freshly cut trees that are designed to fall apart after one use. Tires that have built in igniters so they burst into flames when the tread gets low enough. Light bulbs that burn for less 100 hours each. Car maintenance products that have had a little bit from each bottle dumped into a natural watershed. Styrofoam used to package everything. Special styrofoam that gives off CFCs.

I’ve always wanted a toaster powered by a two thousand horsepower gas turbine engine. And it only toasts one slice a a time.

Yowza, that is a stupid amount of crazy, or a crazy amount of stupid.

Hey, I have a new idea for a great business startup! Sell expensive, easily broken, completely non-reusable crap to conservatives who are against global warming! Light bulbs that have to be replaced every month! Styrofoam cups can’t be recycled! Paper plates that food bleeds though and you have to use like 2 or 3 of them to hold a taco! Its gold Jerry, gold!

By comparison, Steve Lonegan is a genius. He’s the Republican running against Cory Booker who has a slight problem with Booker not refuting gay rumors. He likes being a guy, you see

So, he’s not married, then?

The conjecture burning up conservative talk radio today (I like to aggravate myself) is that the chemical weapons used in Syria are the WMDs that were never found in Iraq. Here’s a story from the august Tea Party News Network with the dubious title “Who’s Lying Now? Syria’s Chemical Attacks Indicate President Bush Didn’t ‘Lie’ About WMDs”.

Similar assertions appear from the usual gang of idiots.

The Newark Star-Ledger had better stake out all the men’s rooms on the NJ Turnpike. There’s a news scoop coming, I betcha.

Bad link on my earlier post. Here it is if you really do need to see this for yourself.

“A man isn’t complete until he is married. Once he gets married, then he is finished.”

Heh. Analogous to an atheist reading the Bible, you’re better informed to argue with the misinformed about why they’re misinformed. As a delivery driver, I spent many an evening listening to the likes of Hannity, Savage, O’Reilly, and so forth. I heard what passes for arguments, saw how they simply shout down/disconnect/don’t respond to dissenting opinions, and realized pretty early on that the game is rigged. There’s a narrative, it doesn’t change, doesn’t matter what facts come to light. And if for some reason the narrative becomes widely discredited even among the audience for this tripe, eventually it gets brought back up whenever there is an opportunity to pretend like they were right all along. There are two objectives with conservative radio, Fox News, and religious organizations in general.

  1. Preach to the choir by repeating falsehoods ritualistically and ignoring facts, which is one method of retaining political power.

  2. Obtain money from your flock, which is just another form of power.

You have to give credit where credit is due- it is a very effective way of keeping the masses ignorant and subservient, and keeping questionable authority figures in positions of power.

Syria, North Korea, Southern Sudan, Egypt, and Angola are not signatories of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

Israel and Myanmar are signatories, but have yet to ratify.

I believe Iraq was not a member of the CWC until 2009.

Egypt used chemical weapons in the 60’s in Yemen.

It was my understanding that Egypt sent chemical weapon artillery shells to Syria before the 73 war. Since then, the Syrians have developed an chemical weapons program.

Perhaps we should invade Egypt?

Steve King: Unemployed people are like kids trying to eat without doing chores.

A nickel says he had an iron ass prick for a Dad. And he looks like the kind of guy who would be proud of that.

I’m a liberal who hates the script that was taught as “cursive,” but who wants all children to be taught proper handwriting, not just “printing.”

What is the difference between “proper handwriting” and cursive?

Speaking as a recently unemployed person, I’d like to remind Mr. King that I did my chores for 12 fucking years for that company. Now shut up and chuck me a baked potato; and don’t skimp on the sour cream, asshole.

I love how he has high school kids count as unemployed at one end and the possibly retired(or disabled) at the other to boost his numbers.

Guess in his world you don’t need to be educated past the third grade before picking up the slack. And then die at your post decades later.
