I dunno - it has its uses…
Republican governor comparesgay marriage to incest:
Renee Ellmers (R-NC) - But I **need **my salary!
You know who’s responsible for the shut down? Yeah, you got that right it’s the Park Service
You have completely mischaracterized the incident and the Congressman’s remarks. While the real story is absolutely reprehensible, I find your deed no more defensible. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Whoosh?
Yeah, whut?
Or you might get caught saying that your biggest concern about the shutdown is your poll numbers, as happened to Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.
“I just did CNN and I just go over and over again ‘We’re willing to compromise. We’re willing to negotiate.’ I think… I don’t think they poll tested we won’t negotiate. I think it’s awful for [Democrats] to say that over and over again,” Paul said.
“Yeah, I do too and I, and I just came back from that two hour meeting with them and that, and that was basically the same view privately as it was publicly,” McConnell agreed.
Paul added, “I think if we keep saying, ‘We wanted to defund it. We fought for that and that we’re willing to compromise on this’, I think they can’t, we’re gonna, I think… well, I know we don’t want to be here, but we’re gonna win this, I think.”
According to Michele Bachmann, Republicans are really happy right now.

Another gem from Baghdad Bachmann.

I’m not sure I even followed what Paul was saying. That was pretty inarticulate

Talk about being inside the bubble. “We see that we’re winning this dialog on a national level.”
LOL, what fucking planet is she living on?

Bizzarosota.
There was one Republican Congresssman who voted against his Republic mates, Scott Riggell of Virginia. I only mention it because it is such an oddity to see in nature, like the ivory billed woodpecker, or a can of Vanilla Coke.

Hey Bo:
Michele Bachmann says you’re winning this argument.
Talk about being inside the bubble. “We see that we’re winning this dialog on a national level.”

That’s not even really the Republican bubble. That’s the Bachmann bubble. There are plenty of Republicans who are VERY nervous about what leadership is doing here, even Republicans who would otherwise be right at the microphones with Bachmann under normal circumstances. They’re not nervous ENOUGH to buck the Tea Party, but they are definitely NOT happy.

As I parse what Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul said in Smapti’s link (and admittedly, my confidence in my correctly parsing what they may have meant is not high), they also think the Democrats are the ones losing on this.
Because, you know, if you mug somebody, and then say you’re willing to only mug them for half the amount, they’re unreasonable if they won’t negotiate.

We have got to get to the point where we’re working like a functional government, not like a dictatorship.
And yeah, he’s talking about how unreasonable it is that Democrats and the President won’t let his party repeal or defund the ACA. Never mind that the law was duly passed and enacted and that the SCOTUS says it’s constitutional, I guess.
He goes on to opine:
[
I think it’s wrong to make someone buy something they don’t want or don’t need.

Bizzarosota.
That’s the Minnesota that’s the Land of Zero Lakes, right?
