Stupid Republican idea of the day

Has this been mentioned yet? We can’t register guns, but the GOP here wants you to register your bicycle or face a fine.

Are you that big a customer that you’ll make up for the shortfall?

As long as the dealers aren’t illegal immigrants, they won’t mind.

ETA: Which gives me an idea of ending the stalemate. Open the borders because we can’t pay INS, and let the Mexicans stream in. That will scare the shit out of the Pubbies.

Fox anchor apologizes after Obama gaffe.
A Fox News Channel anchor apologized for falsely saying that President Barack Obama had offered to pay for the operation of a museum of Muslim culture “out of his own pocket” during the government shutdown.

Did that apology really take three days?

Major miracles traditionally require three days.

Quote from the anchor.

Nominated for the SDMB Hall of Fame.

Well, the tweet did. The actual on-air admission that they were idiots will not be until next Saturday.

In the meantime, Fox has accomplished it’s goal: Their audience now KNOWS FOR A FACT that Obama is paying for a Muslim museum to stay open, and is (even as we type) spreading this BS around to everyone they know.

Fox News has found that they can lie outrageously, frequently and even insanely… Their audience just continues to lap it up.

Can the admission have a Budd Dwyer element?

:dubious: I don’t want to wait that long for my loaves and fishes!

…I want to thank all the little people who’s hard work and sacrifice made this possible, the dwarves, the elves, the hobbit…

As a non 'Merkin -

when I look at this sort of crap, I can’t help but wish for some sort of “Accuracy in the Media” law - something with teeth that holds news outlets to a higher standard of truth (i.e its easier to sure them for libel / defamation) than the general public.

Would love to see 'Bams take a suit against them for defamation of character

Sadly, I could easily see such laws being exploited by wealthy individuals and large corporations to keep “the wrong” news out of the public eye. Probably why there aren’t any, aside from the First Amendment issues.

Yeh, SLAPP suits are used by deep pockets to silence dissent.

Michele Bachmann says we are in The End Times, and she is giddy about it:

So, still batshit, then ?

In one breath, she not only explains why the GOP is turning our country into Bizzaro America, but her first sentence demonstrates the same Bizarro “up is down” rhetoric she projects onto her enemies.

Fascinating.

 I heard some Western states had legalized maranatha, but Minnesota?!
