Stupid Republican idea of the day

Wait, I’m missing something. I thought Boehner already controlled what was brought to the floor; otherwise, the Dems wouldn’t always be demanding up or down votes on various issues that they never get to vote on, and vice versa when Pelosi was Speaker. So isn’t this just a limited delegation of authority to Cantor, rather than a radical change of rules?

The condition of a stalemate between the Senate and the House creates the exception, according to the previous rules. In such a case, any Representative was permitted to bring a “privileged” motion to pass the Senate version as law, and there was no mechanism to block such a vote.

If that rule were still in place, we likely would not be having this conversation.

TP really at WH features Palin, Cruz, & Confederate flag.

True as far as it goes, but I wouldn’t make too much of it - there were still only a couple hundred people there, doubtless some of whom were spectators who just wanted to see how far those yahoos would take it.

The next time I hear a conservative whine “Ya’ll do it TOO!” I’m going to bring this up. Because though the Left has some nutjobs, you will find no current Democratic US Senators or former vice-presidential candidates marching in the streets with racist, anti-American symbols, spewing such hateful and crazy rhetoric.

A typo I’ve never seen before: ". . . to protest its’ closing . . . "

David Frum: A tea party exit would be a blessing for GOP.

Whether this is actually a smart Republican idea is, of course, open for debate.

Texas Land Commissioner and LG candidate Jerry Patterson wants the blue states to secede from the Union.

And now Bachmann is trying to schedule actual impeachment hearings. This week.

I guess Obama can’t just put them up against the wall and shoot them.

They call him a “clown,” a “dictator” and “worse than Hitler” in that article.

:mad::mad::mad::frowning:

I can’t believe that’s a real story; it has to be a fake. I just can’t believe that even Louie Gohmert is dumb enough to go on record with this:

It’s a fake. No real news site is reporting this. “codewit.com” filled with Nigerian news. BrainGlutton, check your cites closer. Seriously. This is ridiculous. If you can’t reason this out better than that, then stay away from the multiple threads where you posted this nonsense. You aren’t helping.

I have to agree with Zakalwe, the closest was a report from the 9th where The Hillreported that she **could **start impeachment procedures, so just wishful thinking from crazy eyes, no confirmation of actual moves for impeachment.

Check your sources next time please.

He’s already been impeached according to this stalwart bastion of journalistic integrity.

PoiticsUSA says something similar, but nothing about actual resolutions or hearings.

OK, in that article Ted Cruz is quoted as saying that Obama is worse than Hitler. The guy is nutso, but I can’t believe he is that crazy.

I seriously need to see another source.

I can’t believe he’s that crazy, but I can believe that he doesn’t believe what he says.

He did draw similar comparisons in his nonfilibuster, remember.

Yeah. But the sources I have seen report that the one that made a more direct Hitler reference was Arizona State Representative Brenda Barton R-(sick bitch).

Really, you need to select your sources better and do some checks , it is not only a good recommendation that I just give to the other side but also to the ones that I follow too. (Raw story is iffy, but I have seen the story from Barton elsewhere)
