So, Senators Reid and McConnell have come up with a compromise bill that even Ted Cruz has agreed not to stand in the way of. It reopens the government, raises the debt ceiling, makes some token changes to the ACA that both sides are OK with, and even makes future debt ceiling increases automatic unless Congress actively votes not to raise the debt ceiling. It’s, in short, the best-case scenario, and Boehner appears to be willing to put it to a vote in the House without the support of the tea party.
The Club For Growth (possibly now the most ironically named PAC in the country) is still urging Republicans to vote against it because it doesn’t repeal Obamacare.
Hey don’t worry, because the government is only funded until January 15 and the debt is raised until February 7. We get to do this again in a few months, yay! -_-
Question still is, is this debacle finally enough to teach the Republicans they lost?
I assume this is a rhetorical question. Those idiots are stupid enough to repeat this debacle – probably even stupid enough to repeat it next October. 
Expect this shit to go on till November 2014. And folks decide whether or not the Tea Party is too obstructionist. But I’m still betting the whole “default” business will be forgotten by then. Americans have an institutional memory of about six months.

The cynic in me wonders if there was a conversation between Boehner and Obama 10 days ago or so, like:
Boehner: Mr President, I got nothin’. How about we dick around for 10 days with parliamentary nonsense and conference committees; then on the 16th you can throw us a bone about Mom & Apple Pie to make it look like we stood strong and negotiated, and we can put this nonsense behind us.
