I read about one born again Christian who was accumulating as much money as she could because when she got to heaven, she didn’t want God to think she’d done nothing with her life. More than a few evangelicals think money is the yardstick that God uses to determine the worth of your existence, never mind what the bible says about it.

You’re not getting the context here. Since everyone “left behind” after the Rapture will be, by definition, a reject, it’s the bounden duty of the righteous to leave them as much of an ecological wasteland as possible. Increases their tribulations, dont’cha see.
