It wasn’t Wilde, it was George Bernard Whistler.
No, I think it was his mother.
I just heard yesterday on NPR that Churchill never actually said that, it was some other British politician whose name I’ve forgotten.
Stephen Harper, I think.
Brit, Canuckistani, tomayto, take it bitch
I am going to have to look up this Churchill character… quite the fuckin poet.
Disraeli attributed the following to Churchill:

The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you never know if they are genuine.

But as a statesman during England’s darkest hour, he left a lot to be desired. Many Brits have yet to forgive him his famous defeatist speech : “We shall defend our island, as long as it remains cost effective. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, but after that let’s not and say we did”.
In fairness, if Hitler invaded hell, I would at least make a favourable reference to Godwin in this thread.
Phyllis Schlafly: “It’s the Statue of Liberty, not the Statue of Immigration”.
Well…technically true, but hardly the point.
Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning for the liberty to clean my house and mow my grass.
… and be deported right after.
Jesus. No wonder Cruz the Younger is such a loon.
I’m pretty sure they had tables in the late 18th century.
It’s actually kind of amazing that shutting down the government is the craziest thing he’s done, considering where he came from.
I’m sure that’s just the setup to him unzipping his human skin suit after he becomes president and taking over the US government as a cadre of a hundred snakes
And when he boards Air Force One there’ll be . . .
One more snake on the motherfucking plane!
Ironic that Ted’s father was a freedom fighter for Castro in Cuba and actually got imprisoned and beaten by the Battista regime. Ted’s father apparently had a change of heart after finding out the crap Castro was up to in Cuba. Too bad his son did not learn anything about political extremism from his dad’s experiences.
He did. If you’re from the right, you’re a freedom fighter, if you’re from the left, you’re an extremist.
