I’ve thankfully never been exposed to lutefisk, but if it’s textureis truly gelatinous, I’m not sure that it can also be described as squamous.

Look, I think Steve King is normally worthless, but this is ridiculous. The guy was in Norway and ate something that was set before him. Now, while reindeer and lefse sound tasty, I think it’s perfectly possible for someone to “enjoy” lutefisk. If this was anyone other than a Republican Congressman nobody would have paid any attention except for anyone following whoever tweeted it.
Because of population changes Representative King’s Congressional District, which was initially centered on the wind swept plains of Northwest Iowa with its core of Dutch descendants, has spread toward Northeast Iowa which has a substantial Norwegian descended population. This is a crass ploy to appeal to those traditionally Republican Norse who just might bring themselves to vote for an asshole if it claims to have tried lutefisk. There is nothing good to be said about lutefisk. By the same token, there is nothing good to be said about Representative King.
Also, their transatlantic scion, the Minnesota Lutherans. Oh, they’re nice on the outside, but the lutefisk and hotdish are ubiquitous, a window on the darkness lurking beneath.
Is he still in Norway? Any chance we could close the borders?
I once bought some lutefisk under the misguided impression that it was Norwegian for monkfish. Only after I slit open the plastic bag and it oozed out into the pan did I realize how very, very wrong I was.
After the neighbors tarred and feathered you and rode you out of town on a rail, were you able to hire a local Realtor to get whatever he could for your house? Or did they just burn it to the ground?
