Of course, Coca-Cola is not trying to push any social or cultural or political agenda with that ad; they’re just trying to sell their product, and apparently their advertising firm had reason to believe that was a good way.
The bit about, “… very disturbing…” is being distributed as a Republican talking point. Our very own Derplahoman, Josh Cockroft (R) repeated it almost word for word.

Southerners experiencing snow for the first time (insert the usual Al Gore joke here) are claiming it isn’t frozen water at all, but something Obama’s government has faked up just to torment them.

Maybe they’re on to something. Not the snow, but some kind of chemical that makes them mind-bogglingly dumb. Since Republicans and sapient humans are interleaved in communities, it can’t be a simple pollutant of air or water. Maybe it’s not a drug at all, but a signal pattern from some cable TV stations that has a peculiar resonance that fries their brains.
Don’t worry though! We learn from Lance Strongarm in GD that right-wing speech has no power (it may have “influence” – I need a new thesaurus) and that Republicans vote stupidly not due to contagion from the putrid ravings of the Koch Brothers or on YouTube, but just because … they’re stupid.

So Coke has managed to piss off the right-wing through this ad and the left-wing through its Sochi sponsorship. It probably all cancels itself out.
But it’s fun to point out that Katherine Lee Bates, who wrote the words to ‘America the Beautiful’, was (probably) a lesbian in a long-term relationship who left the Republican Party in 1924 due to its resistance to the League of Nations. That one’s right up there with pointing out that the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a socialist in the “making RWNJ heads explode” arsenal.
That explains the heathen leaving out “under God”!

At a Tea Party event last week in Tulsa, a questioner said the following to Bridenstine.
Obama, he’s not president, as far as I’m concerned. He should be executed as an enemy combatant. …The Muslims that he is shipping into our country through pilots and commercial jets… This guy is a criminal and nobody’s stopping him. And the other thing is… Congress doing nothing that legally allows this moron to make decisions. He has no authority, none!
But not Bridenstine. He listened respectfully as others at the gathering chuckled. Finally, Bridenstine replied:
Look, everybody knows the lawlessness of this president. He picks and chooses which laws he’s going to enforce or not enforce. He does it by decree. …When he can’t create a law through Congress, then he gives us the …executive order. …When he can’t even get that done, then he uses foreign bodies. He uses the United Nations to try to change the laws in the United States.
