I’ll bet that this was just the old “gays are free to marry opposite sex partners, just like straights do” canard. :smack:
CPAC is just giving us tons of crazy quotes.
But we can start with Donald Trump thinking Jimmy Carter is dead - Oops! Donald Trump Kills Off Jimmy Carter During CPAC Speech - ABC News
There are a lot of facts you don’t accept, Rick.
Once is a typo. Three times in a row is ignorance.
Shit, I must not know how to spell the or because.
Maybe the thread title should be changed to “Stupid Republican idea of the hour” or “Stupid Republican idea of the minute” for the duration.
Well, politically…
OK, an organization that considers CPAC as having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood? Now that’s not only crazy, but scary.
From that story :
Must have had that reporter in stitches, I tell ya ! The old Jewish problem joke, it’s a classic for a reason.
Politically he’s no deader than Trump is.
Carter is the one who knows it, though.
Former co-worker of mine ‘shares’ the Facebook thing that shows a man with his hands in his face and says he can’t afford insurance and now the IRS is going to penalize him for that.
I point out that, if I was still working for the place we worked together, making $24k a year, I could get a subsidized plan for $120 a month. If I made $15k a year, it would cost me almost nothing. And if I refused to buy it, my penalty would be a mere 1% of income, assuming that I couldn’t meet one of the laundry list of exceptions to the penalty.
He says he’s glad to know I’m the one guy in the world who thinks PPACA is working.
I point out I know people who have insurance now when they didn’t before because of pre-existing conditions or costs, so I’m sure they think it’s working too.
He then goes off on paying for it with '“other people’s money”. :smack:
Good god what a dill hole. We’re already paying for it, through higher insurance rates and taxes. And seriously, one second he’s complaining that they can’t afford it, and the next he’s complaining because we’re making it so they can? Man, the anti-poor propaganda is just getting plain evil. If these bastards had a veto-proof majority, they’d probably be working on camps.
Don’t blame your friend. Most of the education in the country, never mind the political rhetoric, assumes an inescapable dichotomy rather than the reality of an interconnected web.
Republicans dumping on their own candidate for Congress from Florida after having spent millions of dollars on him because it’s likely he’s going to lose.
Funny that they have a problem with his 27 year old girlfriend. They don’t seem to have any problems with other wealthy Republicans and their very much younger girlfriends and wives. Or with a certain guy who got a 17 year old girl’s parents to sign her over so he could fuck her. I suppose the ‘just divorced’ part is what bothers them. He should have waited a month or two before being seen with the younger woman. Although I honestly have no knowledge of the details of his divorce or when it was to say if timing is even a legitimate factor.
Just comes down sounding like more of the same with a desperate party burying people who don’t win for them.
Psst! See post #13295.
dangit
Darrell Issa is a superstar of Republican stupidity. He was the subject of the OP itself (post #1) in this long historic thread, when he introduced legislation designed to make it easier for Michelle Obama haters to do their hating.
Trivia test: What (other than the `D’ by their names) do Elijah Cummings and Michelle Obama have in common? (Hint: it’s a trait not shared by any previous First Lady.)
Holy crap! Michelle Obama is A MAN?!?!?!
Is that it? I don’t think so. I think the answer is “they both use their real names for porn”. What do I win?
Two South Carolina Public Universities face budget cuts in a Republican sponsored measure because the universities have gay-themed reading assignments.
