IANAL, so I don’t know. From reading the article, my best guess is that students would not be allowed to carry in school, but “authorized” administrators and teachers could.
Meantime, back in Kansas, the Republicans are trying in another state to force doctors to report all miscarriages to the state. As I recall, Virginia’s attempt to do this a few years back got most of the country in an uproar. By this time, I think many of us are so fatigued by the constant, and constantly changing, assaults on our reproductive and personal rights that it may not merit more than a whimpering mention in a few places.
I see from that article that Kansas is also trying to pass a bill restricting abortion after the first 6 weeks and another for fetal personhood.
I’m thinking that henceforth certain teachers’-union/administration disputes could be . . . settled, in a gentlemanly manner, in the faculty lounge.
As a Georgia native, let me explain about the law permitting carrying guns in church. The legislators understand things you don’t … sometimes the arguments about whether or not it’s a sin to eat shellfish and how think of a rod you can use to beat your wife get VERY heated … and you HAVE to shoot someone …
Actually, it’s worse now than it was in the wild west days. Most towns back then required you to check your guns in as soon as you got into town.
I think a more apt descriptor is: Repubs think the old TV show “Gunsmoke” is a factual history documentary and wish to go back to those fictional days that never actually happened.
