Stupid Republican idea of the day

Mike Huckabee thinks there is more freedom in North Korea than in the United States.

Plus, our country allows legal abortion and in some states sanctions same-sex marriages, denying people like Mike Huckabee the freedom of having their religious beliefs enshrined into law.

Gosh, Governor, if you wanted to give the impression that you’re in a really good position to terrorize a polling place, you’ve probably succeeded beyond your wildest imaginings. I’m sure we could arrange to have you strip-searched every time you go to vote…

[QUOTE=Mike Huckabee, arguing against woman’s coice]
Ethel Waters, for example, was the result of a forcible rape … And so I know it happens, and yet even from those horrible, horrible tragedies of rape… life has come and sometimes, you know, those people are able to do extraordinary things.

I’m beginning to think theres more freedom in North Korea sometimes than there is in the United States.

I nominate septimus for stupid idea about a Republican.

It’s just the Topeka News.

But, Wiki lists no such print publication in Topeka. Hmmm . . .

Topekas News, you mean.

Well, parody or not, if the Neil deGrasse Tyson “cussing” quote is legit, I have more respect for him since he otherwise strikes as kinda mild and bloodless.

Sorry, I c can’t second the nomination. You said"most stomachable," which compared to the general field gives you lots of leeway. Now, if you’d care to choose from a wide selection of other dumb things you’ve said…

(Disclaimer: septinus may or may not have said other dumb things. He may or may not have taunted Happy Fun Ball. He may or may not be a dog on the internet…)

It’s definitely a parody. There’s no such place as Saddlebridge Township, Oklahoma. I reposted it on my Facebook page before reading the responses in this thread though. :smack:

What about that photo of people standing in the street holding signs that spell out “SECDEE”? Staged for this parody-story, or real from another story?

It’s from at least 2012 and probably relates to reelection of the Socialist Muslim Antichrist in Chief.

Well, I’ve confirmed this one ain’t parody, believe it or not: Detroit News columnist Nolan Finley: Dem Lt. Gov. candidate Lisa Brown is “milking the vagina business.”

There’s such thing?! I’m gonna kill my guidance counselor!

[url=]Meanwhile, in Florida:

OK, that one’s mainly evil, but stupid comes into it.

VA GOP candidate: No incest exception for abortion because sometimes it’s ‘voluntary’.

No doubt, Assemblyman Marshall. And no doubt you could tell us some family stories.

Charles Murray: No ‘evidence’ that women are ‘significant thinkers’.

What, did you think he was just a racist? There’s no need to choose!

You’d think sooner or later these people would learn, or at least their PR managers would smack them silly until they learned, that talking about rape and incest with regards to abortion is kind of a really bad idea. Oh well, more fodder.

To be fair, he said that about 25 years ago.

On the other hand, nothing he’s said since leads me to believe he’s changed his stance on the subject, and it’s just a bit too wide.

You’d think, but they represent their constituents. It’s up to the rest of us constituents to hit the bars and exert our democratic free speech rights. With freedom comes responsibility and all that.

Where to start, where to start, oh my!

  1. Perhaps the most badly conceived metaphor in the history of political metaphors!

  2. He thinks vaginas can be MILKED!!! Is there some central Republican medical text that says stuff like this, and that a woman’s body can end a pregnancy if it’s by a rapist? I mean … maybe doing it in the dark under the sheets and ONLY for procreation AND not ever listening to women has left these guys PROFOUNDLY ignorant …

  3. Remembering Opalcat!
