Stupid Republican idea of the day

Oh, please? Please, can we go there? Pretty please, with ghoulish sugar all over? C’mon, lets go, YODO!

His campaign staff wants him to “loosen up” a bit, they think he’s a little stiff…

Speaking of a little stiff…no, no, not going there. Definitely not going there!

Because parties stand for politics, ideologies, and clusters of policy positions . . . which is why we need them in the system, so the voters can make meaningful choices among such . . . and which is also why a partisan (or, for that matter, nonpartisan) election makes no sense for any purely administrative or technical position such as coroner – or sheriff.

New Texas-style Oklahoma law will probably shutter two of the state’s three abortion clinics.

Not stupid at all; that’s the intent.

Perhaps we need a thread for “Evil Republican Idea of the Day”?

Republicans are multi-taskers. They can be both.

Yes. Rifle the pockets first.

Duck Dynast Phil Robertson: The GOP needs to “Get Godly.”

They need to renounce their worship of Mammon and drive the money-changer lobbyists from the civic temple?

Works for me…

I think he means they should work on achieving omnipotence and omniscience.
Wait, no, science BAD, that can’t be it.

Yeah, I think it was a typo/mistranscription.
“GOP, you can’t be right for America if you’re wrong with God,” Robertson said. “You want to turn the Republican Party around? Get Godly.”
Clearly, he is talking about contemporary music. “God” is a name that has been used for Eric Clapton. The other name, obviously, is Kevin Godley, formerly of the band 10cc. So this Robertson guy must be advising to kowtow to Clapton and to slay Godley. Not sure why, maybe he prefers blues to jazz?

Joni Ernst, running for Senate in Iowa (we may have mentioned her before) says the UCSB slaughter was an “unfortunate accident”.

Have they really desensitized themselves that much? Really?

And she goes on to say that underscores her commitment to ending Obamacare.

I don’t see how either one of them would be right for America, which is basically an acoustic band.

The GOP is in the desert beating a dead horse with no name.

In fairness, that’s also a mistake.

 Because 2nd Amendment?!

Those shooting victims, you know, ought to be paying for their treatment out of pocket.

Do we know how old Dick DarkSide’s heart is, actually?

I suppose there is no municipality with regulations that permit stuffing the mouth with garlic, sewing up the lips and burial at a crossroads? The stake would be superfluous.

Not that I believe any of that stuff. But why take a chance?
