What hurts is that I actually reminded myself to make that distinction when I started my reply but by the time I got to the middle of that second sentence I’d forgotten to.
All right, as long as I don’t have to add you to The List.
I will admit that I don’t say anything if I hear someone say “Representative from South Carolina, Virginia Foxx.”
This is, remember, the same state where John McCain’s adopted Pakistani [del]illegitimate black[/del] daughter lost him the primary in 2000.
Agreed, but at least she’s a Republican. Unlike Jim Black, Mike Easley, and pretty much every politician out of Bladen County.
Tell me this:
is satire, please please
Don Young has this say
Well, overall it will recover. We really could do nothing and, given enough time, it will reach some sort of equilibrium. Now, whether that equilibrium will provide the same economic and environmental conditions as before is a different story, but that’s beside the point–nature will go on. I can’t believe how many times you libs forget that simple fact.
Hey, maybe just like global warming there will be increased economic and environmental benefits!
I made similar comments about Bobby Jindal - that I suspected he’d converted to Catholicism to make himself more palatable to voters - before I found out he converted when he was in college and actually believed in exorcism and shit like that.
I don’t think it’s off-limits to suggest that Haley (who like Jindal also adopted a “Western” nickname) did the same thing. Obviously the thing about her doing it to sneak into the government as a secret Sikh is pretty out there.
Are many on the right calling her Nimrata in the same way and with the same emphasis that they use Hussein?
Not yet, she is still a Repub.
and possibly a bit of a horndog…
Well, she’s a Republican, so probably not. In any case, I highly doubt any of them can pronounce it correctly. I don’t know how and I’m Indian.
Wait a minute. This dumbass is trying to minimize the seriousness of the BP oil spill by saying it is not as bad as the environmental destruction caused by World War II?
Well, you know, when I think of the worst thing about World War II, it’s obviously the environmental damage.
Bet the whales loved it.
Howye’s right. Puerto Rico’s name is officially “Commonwealth of Puerto Rico” and Virginia’s name is officially “Commonwealth of Virginia” (also Kentucky, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania), but none of them are commonwealths. The term “commonwealth” as used in these names has no meaning under the U.S. constitution or otherwise in U.S. law. Regardless of their names, legally speaking Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States and Virginia (and Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky) are states.
Uh-huh. Well, let’s see, you’re a former half-term governor who left amid ethics concerns. Obama’s been in office 17 months now. Another year and he’ll have your experience beat.
Con5tinuing her “vomit forth stupidity and see what sticks” stratergy I see.

Politically, it’s de rigueur.
She gets to capitalize on the frustration of the public-at-large regarding the spill while not being in a position where she can be called out on her bullshittery. And, of course, build up her non-existent bona fides as an ‘energy expert’.
This is somewhat sticky vomit.
