Stupid Republican idea of the day

I believe it’s entirely possible that the American peoples’ appetite for drugs is equal to their appetite for cheap labor. Mine is actually greater.

Jeez, what a maroon. If they were all drug mules, they’d go back for more, and there would be a hell of a lot more two way traffic. But I never see night vision pictures of Mexicans slipping across the border southbound.

That’s one Compassionate Conservative, right there!
Clearly one of the best of a bad lot, but does she really think this’ll prevent people from realizing what an nasty, conniving cunt she is?

Well… why not give in on this one  and pass the unemployment extensions separately.

Nah, she already voted to let em starve.
She’ll do it again if given the chance.

Why should they? I think this is FINALLY one of the better moves by Reid and Pelosi.

Because unemployment is arguably the most effective form of economic stimulus. $1 of unemployment benefits adds 1.57 to GDP. Better than tax cuts, which raise GDP by only .37 for every dollar of tax cut. cite

After all, Lucy wouldn’t pull the football away this time.

And you know, eventually, it really stops being Lucy’s fault and it starts being Charlie’s fault.

The problem being, what now…?

My point exactly. Fuck their shit. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that no matter how compromises the Democrats make, the Republicans will not give, and they will still vote “No.”

Well, you’re wrong there. The Republicans have made it clear that they’re not the “Party of No”. They have laid claim to be the “Party of Hell No!”

So I hope you feel bad now.

Well, sure. And it would be nice to get some fight out of the Democrats. Now tell me, what’s the solution? Reward the Repugs by voting for them? Reward the Repugs by voting from a 3rd party?

-Joe

Better yet, why doesn’t Olympia Snowe get off her useless conservative ass and sponser the bill she is asking the Dems to put forth?

How can he be considered the leader of the Crazies when moderates such as this congresswoman think he should be our next president?

The alpha lemming is the leader.

Here’s the latest from potential Nevada senator Sharron Angle:

I guess Sharron figures that as long as her God is OK with rape and incest, then everyone has to play along with her sick and twisted version of religion.

Raped by your father? You must have that baby, because it’s the “plan” of Sharron Angle’s God.

Actually, if you’re going to oppose abortion on the grounds that it’s a person with rights and all that, hers is the only logical position.

Just saw this:

Steve Forbes’ Twitter reaction (tweet?) to Senator Byrd’s death:

Cite.

OMG. Absolutely stunning.

Those are not the stated grounds, though. Her stated grounds are that pregnancies from rape and incest occur as the result of a plan by an invisible, powerful sorceror in the sky, and that we should not anger that sorceror.

Incidentally, even if we accept that God plans rape and incest as a means to create pregnancies, then doesn’t an abortion prove ipso facto that at least that particular pregnancy could not have been God’s plan? How can God’s plan be thwarted? Didn’t God know that girl would get an abortion before he schemed for her to be raped by her father at 11 years old?

Also, how does Angle know that an abortion can’t be part of God’s plan? If she thinks God can rapes, why not abortions?

Also, if rape and incest pregnancies are part of God’s plan, then we shouldn’t punish the rapists, should we? They’re only following God’s plan, after all. How can that be wrong?

One hundred years hence…

Elder Crone Rhiannon Applebaum today re-emphasized the commitment of the Orthodox Wicca to lunar calender adherence.

“Clearly, the Goddess intends that Her worshippers follow the natural order embodied by the lunar calender. She offers us the bell, the book, and the candle, there is no mention of a slide rule.”

Sprite Marcia Throckmorton of the Reform Wicca disagrees in no uncertain terms.

“The Solstice will occur precisely the moment in which the sun reaches its zenith above Stonehenge, on the 23rd of Obama, at 11:48 am, GMT. And WTF is a “slide rule”, anyway?”
