Wow, I so want to see an image of bin Laden about to be taken down by two Seals using batlefs.
FOX News: “CIA torture report was released today to drown out the news reports of Jonathan Gruber testifying before Congress.”

So now they can’t blame the poor cause God made them that way.
Well, you know, there’s Calvinism: Just because God made you to be damned and unsaveable doesn’t mean you don’t deserve damnation.
(Don’t know whether they teach that in Perry’s church.)
I thought capitalism and wealth-building required poor?
And sent his only begotten son, his beloved, to get nailed to a tree to save the souls God already knew were going to Hell. What a dick.
Or perhaps a heartless and merciless God was the only thing the Calvinists could worship.
Well, if you like being a prick to people, it’s only convenient to imagine a god who does the same.
Otherwise known as creating God in your own image and likeness.

Bush official: CIA interrogation tactics weren’t torture, but IRS investigations are.
The end of the article is the best part:
Lamentably, Burguiere did not follow up by verifying that Boykin would indeed prefer to be rectally fed hummus than to have the non-profit status of his political group scrutinized.
I can’t eat Middle Eastern food, it makes me feel awful.

I can’t eat Middle Eastern food, it makes me feel awful.
You’re obviously not doing it right.

I can’t eat Middle Eastern food, it makes me feel awful.
That’s nothing. When we were kids, we had to shove it all up our rectums.

Rick Perry: Poverty is inevitable because the Bible says so.
Rick Perry and the Bible sound-bite. Good for him and his Bible believing constituents.
Except for one little pesky footnote
Matthew 26–11 The poor you will always have with you,[a] but you will not always have me.
Footnote : [a] Matthew 26:11-- See Deuteronomy 15:11
(From the NIV)
Let’s see…
Deuteronomy Chapter 15 – 7 If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward them. 8 Rather, be openhanded and freely lend them whatever they need. 9 Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought: “The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin. 10 Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. 11 **There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land. **(NIV)
[Homer Simpson]Stoopid context.[/Homer Simpson]
Oops. I guess Rick forgot about the generosity part, but hey, the poor, you know, that’s just the way it is and there’s nothing you can do about it. Besides “command you” is open to interpretation as in the singular sense, that you help your neighbor with charity; as opposed to the plural sense, which some would take to mean the government, and obviously, that’s what’s not commanded here because America is awesome!
But let’s back up to the beginning of Chapter 15
Deuteronomy Chapter 15 – 1 At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. 2 This is how it is to be done: Every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made to a fellow Israelite. They shall not require payment from anyone among their own people, because the Lord’s time for canceling debts has been proclaimed. 3 You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your fellow Israelite owes you. 4 However, there need be no poor people among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, 5 if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today. 6 For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
Moses. Who the hell does he think he is?
If Perry wants to take the Bible “literally,” then it’s fair game to ask why is Texas in the top 10 for poorest states in the US? Wouldn’t the governor be fearful of angering G-d and ensuring he did everything possible to reduce poverty?
Or, do we need to install more Ten Commandments displays in the government buildings? Would that alleviate the poverty?
It’s so hard to be a Bible believing Texas governor.

Moses. Who the hell does he think he is?
Well, of course. The New Testament obviously supersedes the Old Testament. They just left in that obsolete stuff so that we could easily see how much better the new stuff is. I mean, really, a whole book dedicated to copulation? ick

That’s nothing. When we were kids, we had to shove it all up our rectums.
'Ere now, you had rectums? All we had were corks, and glad to have them! Damned glad, you have no idea…
I bring you: Rick Perry: Presidential Campaign's 'Not an IQ Test'
“Running for the presidency’s not an IQ test. It is a test of an individual’s resolve. It’s a test of an individual’s philosophy. It’s a test of an individual’s life’s experiences,” Perry said in an interview at the Governor’s Mansion, which he’s leaving as his term ends. “And I think Americans are really ready for a leader that will give them a great hope about the future.”
What about the hope you gave Texas. BIG EMPLOYMENT GAINS in minimum wage jobs. NO INCOME TAX but middle income Texans pay more total taxes than Californians… EDUCATIONAL REFORM - massive cuts and Christian influence in history books.
