Stupid Republican idea of the day

Lemme see if I have this right: Frederick County Councilman Kirby Delauter (R) doesn’t want his name used in the newspaper without his prior permission, despite the fact that there’s no legal requirement or precedent that legitimizes his demand. Do I have that right?

Well, I think Kirby Delauter is a fucking idiot. Kirby Delauter seems to be exactly the sort of douchebag who needs to have his name (which, by the way, is Kirby Delauter) plastered all over every media form imaginable so that the people he represents in his capacity as an elected official will know what he is doing while taking their hard-earned money in tax dollars. Kirby Delauter should prolly also think twice before speaking and then keep his fucking mouth shut, if this is the kind of dumb shit that is going to spill out of Kirby Delauter’s mouth when he opens it.

Kirby Delauter comes off like an arrogant prick. Kirby Delauter should, IMO, try and find a lawyer willing to file his lawsuit, and I hope he succeeds in finding one, because the ensuing legal proceedings would be comedy gold. Then the entire nation can laugh at what a pathetic, ineffectual, spoiled, self-entitled jackass Kirby Delauter is.

That “no copy” thing is easily one of the most annoying and stupid copy protection things I’ve ever run across.

It’s “copy protection” that only protects against stupid people. The workaround on it doesn’t even require special software or browser add-ons. All you have to do (in Firefox) is go to Page Info under Tools, find the right element on the list, and hit the “Save As…” button above the preview.

Yeah, they force you to make do with a lower-quality screenshot.

Another case of those damn* LIBERAL* sports writers tearing down a guy for his political beliefs.

Indeed, he is now Kirby de LotR, how much more can one succeed?

Actually, it’s about ethics in games journalism.

Okay, I called dibs on tonight’s Powerball jackpot, and one of the first things I’m going to buy is a list of the email addresses of everybody in Frederick County.

Then I’m going to send them all a link to this post.

In today’s shocking twist, Kirby apologized for what he did with an actual apology.

Well, damn. If he’s going to be all reasonable and shit, that takes all the fun out of it. But shouldn’t that be grounds for kicking him out of the Republican party? Isn’t the standard (R) play to double down on the stupid? I’m all confused.

Phyllis Schlafly: Campus sex assault is on the rise because too many women go to college.

My favorite double-down defense is when they cite their freedom of speech. That’s when you know they’ve struck bottom, that the best thing they can say about their previous statement is that it wasn’t illegal to say it.

Good for Delauter for admitting he was wrong.

Seems strange to me that this woman is still alive. I feel like the 21st Century itself should have rejected her, and she should have maybe popped back into the 19th or so.

So, the logic is that women on campuses can’t get raped if they’re not there…?

From Wikipedia: Schlafly is 90 years young! She was a Phi Beta Kappa at Washington University in 1944, she got a master’s degree from Radcliffe College in 1945, and she has a J.D. from Washington University Law School.

But YOU shouldn’t go to college!

Or work outside the home. Or be in a leadership position. Or any of the other myriad things that Mrs. Schlafly has been doing for the last 50 years or so.

She’s special.

The only moral [del]abortion[/del]college is my college.

Aye, she’s short bus special.

Exactly! Let 'em get raped at home like God intended!

No the lesson she’s trying to teach us is that she, having been to college, was raped, but it was her fault for going there in the first place
