Stupid Republican idea of the day

I’ve read the bill; there are no penalties for the transgender student.

What is interesting is that the bill allows 4 years for students “traumatized” by, say, seeing a transgender girl fixing her hair at the sink, to recover damages.

My legislative contact in Kentucky tells me the bill has no chance of even getting voted on.

You’re not fooling anybody. Thinking rationally about the claims of conservative leaders and asking hard-nosed questions about their claims is an old liberal trick!

Here is some perspective for those who don’t realize how insane the modern republican party has become:

Ronald Reagan’s Benghazi.

Unfortunately, the stupid has been in season for the Republic Right for a few years now, though it seems to have gotten worse within the last couple of years

Ah yes, the respected Investors Business Daily. Last famous for claiming that Stephen Hawking, life-long Britisher, wouldn’t stand a chance of surviving in the Socialised Medicine hell that is Britain.

Actually I’m now really curious to hear how this Jindal speech is recieved now. Quick google couldn’t find where this speech is being delivered. He’d better hope it’s a super sympathetic audience or it’s going to go very badly. The British reputation for politeness is overstated but we’ll generally hear someone out respectfully. But if someone starts telling us bare faced lies, all bets are off.

You can be sure it won’t be anywhere near Blighty. He’s trolling for right-wing donors, so the more outrageous the lie, the better.

No it’s in London. More intensive Googling revealed it to be taking place at the “Henry Jackson Society”, no I’d never heard of them either. Apparently a right wing think tank, so unless protesters turn up. Unlikely, I live in London, I pay attention to Political stuff, and I had no idea Jindal was here till I decided to browse the Dope 2 hours ago. He’s likely to deliver his speech unchallenged. Possibly a tabloid might get ahold of the story in the aftermath and be uncomplimentary, but he’s probably going to get away with it.

Considering how well their minority outreach effort is going it’s probably best Spanish Speaking viewers don’t hear what they have to say.

Um, I think Spanish speaking viewers will hear what they have to say, unless they speak ONLY Spanish in which case they are very unlikely to be voters anyway.

I’d also note that their Latino outreach efforts were dismayingly effective in 2014, much to your chagrin if you knew about it.

I’m pretty sure they got that message, loud and clear.

Yep. That’s why Greg Abbott won 41% of the Latino vote in the TX gubernatorial race.

Which is to say, that something Republicans did in recent days had no negative impact on an election that occurred several months ago.

I dare say: you are on solid ground with that one.

In Florida, Rick Scott only won 38% of the Latino vote, down from 50% in 2010.

So what does it mean, compared to the previous mid-term election cycle? Nothing really.

…and even Fox News is forced to acknowledge the whole ‘Islam is taking over areas of Europe’ bullshit is bullshit.

Just in time for Jindal to once again demonstrate his remarkable political timing and sound judgement.

And you’d think Ron himself would have had the good sense to stay out of it.

It’s a liberal meme that Republicans love wrapping themselves in the flag while doing their best to secretly screw over the military?

Flag wrapped Tea Pary Darling screws over her active duty husband while he’s deployed

Bur don’t worry. Baby Jesus says it’s OK

Man, that ‘confession’ is just one big self-excusing isn’t it?
