Stupid Republican idea of the day

Sadly, having a racist aide is not deemed nearly as bad as smiling at and shaking the hand of president Obama. That’s thought of as treason.

If I understand the new rules correctly, you are now allowed to do that. PROVIDED that you ritually cleanse yourself by rushing to the nearest microphone to slam him for being partisan, unwilling to compromise, and committed to destroying the economy through his misguided intransigence. You get an extra bonus forgiveness if you tie it to Benghazi and Obamacare - regardless of the actual topic of conversation.

Isn’t Aaron Schock the ambiguously gay rep? Likes to shower with his buds but is totally not gay?

My Mom went to U Tex, way back in the day when very few young women did that sort of thing. All women were required to spend their first year in a dormitory for women, which had been more or less cobbled together, and only had communal, open showers of the type you see in gyms.

She did her time and moved out at her earliest chance, and wrote in a letter to my grandmother: “If I never see another naked female body in my life, it will be far too soon”.

Subtext:
“We must formally recognize that rape is a bad thing every time we attempt to legitimize it for the purpose of ending the rape exception to abortions.”

I don’t think it was a communal shower.

Just rumor? Slanderous gossip? http://gawker.com/cbs-journalist-shatters-gop-congressmans-glass-closet-1494550684

Didn’t he used to be on Fox News, or am I thinking of somebody else?

What does his son’s success have to do with his? Does his son own the radio show (ensuring that it cannot be canceled or something)? I’m not sure what point you’re making.

Are we boycotting Rockstar?

And it’s getting worse. Schock is reported to have sold his home at a huge profit to a political donor.

Have you had the joy of listening to Mark Levin? Similar.

Our own local home-grown boy, ex-mayor and ex-felon Roger Hedgecock (mayor of San Diego till caught in corrupt dealings) is worth a shout. He’s been guest-host for Rush several times. He’s still waving the bloody shirt over Benghazi.

I’ve heard it said that Michael Savage is knowingly exploiting the shtick, and that he doesn’t actually believe anything he says. He’s just in it for the money. Any idea if this is true?

Rockstar was created by Russell Goldencloud Weiner. Which is to say, the radio dude’s real name is Michael Weiner. He chose to use “Savage” either because of an unspoken adoration for the Stranger columnist Dan, or he is one of those self-loathing jews, ashamed of his own ethnicity.

Could be true, but I’ve never heard of him admitting it.

But does he turn the names of people he hates into rude words?

Poor baby. Next thing you know, he’ll be forced to live in a repo!

You see?! You see?! That proves campaign donations don’t buy politicians! If Schock felt he owed dude anything, he would sold him the house at a loss! Ha! Got you there!

Really more of a rental, or a leash.

Republican stupidity of the day is getting all outraged at the factually correct, if irrelevant, statements made by the President on the Crusades and Jim Crow. The right approach to nonsequitors is to ignore them. By going with outrage, they give such statements more public consideration than they deserve.

That was Jim Gilmore. You got “He doesn’t believe in American values” out of his statement? really?

So did he get collared for that?

Wow,** adaher **tried to contribute to this thread instead of arguing against it! I assume y’all missed it, since most of us have him on ignore now.

I admit my participation in the site is spotty at best, but why all the adaher hate?

I get that he’s a right-wing banner carrier, but I have never seen a post from adaher that made me go “okay, *that *guy is on ignore.”

Please note: I’m not defending anyone. I just think I missed something somewhere.
