Stupid Social Justice Warrior Bullshit O' the Day.

In my own memory is the year the Dem candidate had to reassure America that his being a Catholic did not mean subservience to the Pope. (Spoiler! He managed.) Irish “identity politics” doesn’t fret anyone anymore, neither does Italian. AfAm “identity politics” didn’t matter until they got some voting power going.

Perhaps the best way to resolve the worrisome issues of “identity politics” is to resolve the problems that make such politics necessary. Just a thought.

While it sounds like it should be an Onion article…

Social justice warriors want universities to ‘ban veterans’

But not to worry, veterans.

A flyer, huh? On a college campus? Pardon my lack of outrage.

Not sure. I give it even odds that it was written by a 18 year old freshman who was recently bullied by a vet (it happens), or a right wing agitator trying to pose as a SJW in order to drum up outrage.

It is naively written, and uses terms that only someone vaguely familiar with the actual ideals of justice in society would be using.

If I were a veteran, I would not worry about this, nor give it a second thought, and you too, Projammer, it’s gonna be alright.

Whether it be the sincere 18 year old idiot, or the right wing agitator who is responsible for the flier, by helping to spread the news of it an its contents, you have made their day.

Or simply some university kid with no strong political persuasion doing it for shits and giggles. It presses way too many buttons for me to believe its anything but a troll.

This wouldn’t be the first hoax presented as real on this thread and as this thread so aptly demonstrates, there is a significant portion of the right that loves to get worked up over such petty nonsense, whether real or not.

Since there seems to be no SWJ central committee to vet these through I was just offering it up per the thread title 'Stupid SJW Bullshit".

Don’t worry, this hasn’t caused me any distress at all. And I am completely willing to admit there is the potential that this could be a false flag operation. But considering some of the BS that has been publicly claimed by the SJW I wouldn’t bet on it.

It’s fake. No Google search can come up with anyone with that name has ever existed.

It essentially is an Onion article. This is obvious satire or at least an attempt at such.

You flew into shrill hysterics over a flyer on a college campus. You should probably get less of your news from paranoia-peddling right-wing websites. Or YouTube comments. Or email forwards. Or wherever the fuck stupid people get their latest right wing propaganda.

Where did Projammer “fly into shrill hysterics”? :dubious: While the article sounds stupid, he sounded neither “shrill” nor “hysterical”.

I agree he wasn’t shrill or hysterical. Weapons grade gullible, pathologically incapable of critical thought, or the old classic dumber than a bag of hair would have all been more accurate.

True. It was probably just some stupid college prank, like the Dihydrogen Monoxide hoax.

Not probably, obviously.

I think it is more likely a joke than a hoax. I’m pretty sure the author did not think anyone would take it seriously.

Anyone who got past the first sentence, “Welcome to the first official issue of the Social Justice Collective Weekly!” and thought this thing was genuine is a special kind of dumb.

I disagree - I think its quite likely that the author believed a number of people (“special kind of dumb” or otherwise) would believe every single word, especially for those who believe “SJWs” are not only a thing, but a thing that merits serious concern and attention.

Yeah, I actually read a little more about this since my last post and I concur that this is more likely a hoax than a joke. I jumped the gun a bit on that one.

I had only heard of this from Projammer’s gullible post and the link he posted to right wing nut site Campus Reform. I didn’t realize how many main stream news organizations picked up on this story.

Here’s another clue… The author of the flyer is supposedly Terry Steinawitz. Do you know a lot of folks named Steinawitz? No? Maybe that’s because it’s a made up name that supposed to sound extra Jewy. Well looky there, an anti-semitic dog whistle right there in the byline.

Googled the name - and only hit for surname as spelt is this story on various websites. Also, unsurprisingly, no student with that name at the uni in question:

Just as their dads frothed at the mouth over “PC Gone Mad!!!11!!” fairytales in the Daily Mail, the Pepe generation will never let a small thing like facts get in the way of their outrage over “SJWs”. New generation, new terms for the cool kids, but still the SOS.

It’s like they rejected Jewy McJewerson because it sounded too Irish.

Why not Turd Ferguson?

There’s plenty of hits for Steinwitz, Steinewitz or Steinowitz. So it’s not entirely made up.
Presumably he picked a jewish name of someone he’d heard of but didn’t know how to spell it

This is where we are as a society - where it is impossible to tell whether something is genuine but stupid, a left-wing attempt to troll right-wingers, or a right-wing attempt to stir up outrage against the left.
