Suck it Big 10! (NCAA Football)

When was the last time LSU lost in the Superdome?

This is the one good thing about the WAC. Since we traditionally have sucked pretty hard, there’s no stupid conference rivalry bullshit.

Actually, there’s two good things about the WAC. The other is our good players making the “All-WAC team.” Heh, “All-WAC.” Dat’s mad WAC, yo.

Waaaaahhhhh!!!
You know why that is? Because Big-10 teams, such as Michigan, were too fucking scared to give us a home-and-home. So, we figured we’d play teams that would. Once the SEC went to an 8-game schedule, we had no choice but to play Tech, and two teams who would NOT require a home-and-home. That’s what happens when you’re locked into an OOC rivalry and another neutral site game every year.

We’re not scared of traveling to the Big-10, as has been demonstrated by the changes made to our schedule once the 12th game was added. If you look at our record vs. the Big-10 (sic), you’d have to have your head incredibly far up your ass to think fear even enters into the equation. Of course, we’re dealing with someone who thinks the University of Tennessee is located in Florida, so who knows.

Huh? How does the 12th game and the Georgia Tech game mandate that UGa must play two teams that “would NOT require a home-and-home”? The logic of your statements escape me.

UGa has a 12 game schedule. Eight of them are SEC games. One of those SEC games is a neutral site game in Jacksonville with Florida. One game of the remaining 4 non conference games is the in state rivalry game with Tech. That leaves 3 games per year, plenty of room for a home and home with a Big 10 team with room for two patsies left over. What am I missing?

I might be mistaken, but I think it was January 1, 1987 in the Sugar Bowl: Nebraska 30, LSU 15.

No, I said we weren’t able to add another home-and home until AFTER the NCAA went to a 12-game schedule. Prior to that, we needed 2 patsies to come play us in Sanford if ew wanted to maintain a 6-game home schedule.

Earlier in the thread, it was pointed out that UGA has scheduled away games with a whole bunch of teams that are located outside of the South (as if that even matters).

There is a problem with Les Miles of LSU

It should be More Miles.

Always the fuckin’ bridesmaid.

Really? Where, precisely in this thread or another was that pointed out? Thanks.

Here’s a link to historical schedules:

In the last 50 years Georgia has only ventured into Big 10 territory twice, against Michigan, managing a split. W 1965, L 1957. UGa hasn’t visited any Pac-10, Big East, Big 12 or Big 8 schools, or major independents outside of the old Confederacy, in those 50 years either. They’re all afraid of a home and home that would bring them in for a game at Sanford Stadium too?

I have no problem with this list except for Michigan. How do they fit the bill of “storied program”? Most wins? Highest winning percentage? How about a 19-20 bowl record and tied for ninth on the National Championship list (with one of those being disputed)?

You’d have been better off putting OSU or Nebraska in that slot.

i’m sorry. It must have been in the thread that linked to this one.

Try here. I’ll try to find the precise post when I move out of this hotel. I think spoke put it up.

I was referring to teams we have scheduled in the future. Louisville, Arizona St., Colorado, Oklaohma St., etc.

Labrador Deceiver was referring to future scheduling, I think. And my post on that subject is over here.

Really? I figured it was a long time, but I didn’t realize it was that long. How many games is that?

I’m assuming that the only times LSU has played in the Superdome is their appearances in the Sugar Bowl. That’s a bit of a shaky assumption, but hey. Their record in that is as follows:

2007: LSU 41 Notre Dame 14
2004: LSU 21 Oklahoma 14
2002: LSU 47 Illinois 34

Big jump - no appearances

1987: Nebraska 30 LSU 15
1985: Nebraska 28 LSU 10

Another big jump to a 1968 win over Wyoming. But there was no Superdome then.

They haven’t played in the Dome that much. It’s a meaningless statistic.

Florida is going to be dominant again next year. Our defense will have experience instead of being so young, our offense will still kick ass (with Tebow). That Michigan game though… cry. even so, that was one of (if not the first?) time Michigan’s whole team had really been healthy and functioning the whole season, so we played the pre-season rated Michigan team that got smoked due to injuries. Still no excuse for the loss though :-\

Cheer for the Gators, and whoever beats the Seminoles!

(also, sucks to be an OSU fan :D)

No! It’s great to be an OSU fan! We kicked butt in our bowl, we’re graduating our top reciever and tailback to the NFL, but have a beast of a freshman replacing the WR and a good stable of RBs. We have a good class of commits, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Top 25 this time next year!

This can’t be all. I’m 99% sure that they played Tulane in the Superdome this year.

Robiskie is a Junior, and I don’t think he is going to be picked high enough to justify leaving early. He might, but I don’t see it happening. Wells is a sophomore, and will certainly be back next year.

It’s quite obvious the SEC is a very good conference. It is NOT as good as everyone makes it out to be. From the rhetoric, you’d think that the SEC could play in the NFL and be successful. Yeah, OSU made a bunch of big mistakes and deserved to lose that game. The whole “SEC Speed” thing was blown out of the water (as Beanie Wells absolutely smoked the LSU all-American safety and the rest of their secondary), and the dominance was questioned by the fact that Florida lost to an unranked Michigan team, and Wisconsin was extremely close in the Tennessee game, and likely would have won had Tennessee’s defensive players not continually tried to purposely injure the quarterback. (I saw at least THREE tackles where the body was very, very available, and they purposely tackled the player by the HEAD.)

Michigan 23-5-1 all-time vs SEC.

Well sure. They played Vanderbilt 20 times. :stuck_out_tongue:

(joking…joking…)
