I have read the Psych (which follows Monk) is supposed to be good, and in the same neurotic tic fashion as Monk.
I’d call it a Police Procedural or, more accurately, a Monk Procedural. Other than that, there’s not really any element that stands out.
It’s a comedy with detective elements. It’s a comedy more than anything esle.
Comedies are supposed to be, yaknow, funny. For me, “Monk” is slightly more funny than “Seinfeld” and infinitely more watchable.
My apologies for hijacking the Monk discussion – but I just saw a promo for The Treasure Hunters, which seems worth checking out.
I saw an ad for that in the movie theatre last night, before X-Men: it was the first I’d seen of it, and it looks interesting!
For me, Monk, Saved, and The Dead Zone. Seems like ages since Dead Zone was on.
Deadwood and Project Runway are both coming up soon.
For me, Entourage really came into its own in Season 2, and I’m really looking forward to this season.
Also, Louis CK has a show starting on HBO called Lucky Louis which is being billed as your standard 4-camera sitcom set up, only on HBO. It will be interesting to see where that goes. Louis CK is a funny dude.
Deadwood, naturally. Beyond that, there’s really nothing I’m looking forward to.
Best title for summer shows: “Master of Champions”. Looks like a repackaged “That’s Incredible”.
Kyle XY, eh? The teasers look interesting and creepy kids are always fun…“looks like a teenager but otherwise appears to be a newborn?”
Of course I will watch Falcon Beach since I tune in for any over-the-top evening soap operas. And I thought I saw a preview of an ensemble twenty-something type show. (Perhaps I’m thinking of Windfall–twenty lottery winners and their adventures, featuring Luke Perry!) Like that one on FOX where every week was the next year but it got cancelled before we found out all the secrets.
Tentatively scheduled to start July 12.
Does anyone know how much of Lost will be repeated? Iris only just finished watching the first season and did’t want to jump into the middle of the second. They are repeating at least some of it starting this week, but it would suck to only get 2/3 of the way though it and then the next season starts.
My god, the opening scene was EXACTLY like John Doe. They even called the Kid John Doe to start. If I were the dudes who wrote *John Doe, * I’d be acalling my attorney about now.
The Dead Zone has gotten off to a good start. It would be even better if hottie female psychic Alex Sinclair was back, though.
I didn’t see the opening scene, but I did catch part of this on TV last night, and I thought it was horrid.
Did anyone else watch Wednesday night’s premiere of Blade on SpikeTV? I taped it, and just watched it today. I can’t decide what I think yet, but I will say that it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I’ll probably watch it again.
(Well, actually I’ll probably tape it again, because it’s on at the same time as Hustle on AMC. :))
