Super Bowl XLIV: Indianapolis Colts v. New Orleans Saints (2/7/2010)

I love seeing bad coaching decisions being punished.

WHAT in the world made them think a running play was going to work???
After a time out THAT was the best play they could call???

Well that was a waste of an entire quarter for the Saints!

Eh, they might still get a field goal.

Saints should be leading. Low-scoring, as I predicted.

Wasn’t that the play before, when the Saints had a receiver completely uncovered?

Tough first half. Proud to see my boys hanging in there after going down 10-0 so early. Defense needs to step it up in the second half, and put some grass stains on Manning’s uniform. Offense is coming around. Still wish somebody would tear the page called “End Around” out of the Saint’s playbook. 10-6 at halftime. Thirty minutes to glory…or heartbreak.

GEAUX SAINTS!

Side note: 50 somethings rocking out is just pitiful.

I could not agree more. It’s sad and pathetic. Daltry has to sing in a lower register and different key, Townsend is a sad shadow of his old self, but Keith Moon looks pretty good back there.

I think I’ll watch something else, this is too depressing.

Especially when they’re singing about being teenagers.

Nice lightshow, though.

Fifties? They’re in their sixties.

Their voices sound terrible. This is a sad thing to see. They used to be one of the best live acts in rock history. Now they sound like they’re huffing to get up the stairs.

Yeah, Keith looks pretty good for being dead for 30 years.

At least it’s not the Stones.

Their voices sound about the same as always, to me.
But I’ve never seen them live before.
And I’m loving it.
I’m a youngin though, only 43.

Dammit, I need 57+ in order to win my pool. Let’s go second-half offense!

Note to Superbowl: before booking the next fossil act to play the halftime show, make sure they can still perform first. I’m concerned about Daltry’s heart right now. I’m not exactly electrified.

I’m a classic rock guy, and I love The Who. That halftime show was hard to watch. Daltry’s vocals were horrible, and Townsend’s were worse. Also bummed they didn’t include “Behind Blue Eyes”, which is not actually also known as “Oak’s Other Anthem”, but should be.

Is that a first for the Super Bowl???

Sean Payton is awesome.

WHOA!!
