Safety at 12 seconds
Hmmm, looks like those low-flying Apache helicopters freaked Manning right out.
But that coat was such-weet.
What were the odds on a safety for first score?
I imagine some guy in Vegas is going apeshit right now.
I wonder if there was a prop bet for that start. If so, someone just got rich
How do professional football announcers not know what end rounds and reverses are?
I believe “type of 1st score” is a prop bet.
BucK: “Namath’s probably the only guy out there who wishes it was colder.” Hee.
Thank god Carroll threw the challenge flag there, because it’s pretty clear that was the only way that Fox was going to show us the replay on the spot.
And as for the prop bets, there are a ton that got set off, but the big money maker is “First Score: Seattle Seahawks Safety” at +4000. Not actually as high as I’d have thought, given the likely true odds.
It would lead to calls to make the goal wider. Or something.
Obviously that was supposed to say “suh-weet.” Thanks, autocorrect!
Safety first is a great way to watch people’s squares expectations blown up.
Washington should’ve gone for it.
You win the internet.
Don’t know if I’m being whooshed, but I just saw a tweet (purportedly) from Mark Cuban saying he had bet on a safety on the first play and won $20 million. On a $20 bet.
An interested observer from Australia here. (Watching the game from my desk at work - with no sound)
So would that fumble be considered Mannings fault? or the Centre’s? (sorry don’t know his name)
That’s the third time the first score has been a safety, so it’s not as crazy a happening as you might think.
What does +4000 mean?
If I bet 100 bucks I make how much?
The center (Manny Ramirez). Can’t fumble a ball you don’t have possession of.
That’s totally grounding. Throw that flag!
Wasn’t he playing baseball in Taiwan, last I heard? No wonder the snap was bad …
