Supernatural 10/15: Weekend at Bobby's

Crowley doesn’t want to return Bobby’s soul.

I predict it won’t end well for Crowley. What with all the guns and assorted weapons the Winchesters and Bobby have.

Crowley is the King of Hell?

???

I like the idea of following Bobby for once. By the way, Jim Beaver(former Doper) twittered quite a bit while filming this, so it’s cool to see how it turns out compared to his on-going descriptions.

This episode is awesome so far.

It just got more awesome with Okamis put through wood chippers.

“You two are the winiest sons of bitches I’ve ever met! Why don’t you drop everything and help me for once?”

I love Bobby.

I liked this episode quite a bit. Will Crowley be a big part of this show now?

That was a great episode. One of the best, perhaps.

They really should do a spin off show focusing on Bobby. I know I’d watch it.

Now that’s more like it.

The only reason they shouldn’t do a spin off Bobby show is that this one needs him so badly. That’s far and away the most fun I’ve had watching Supernatural this season. I mean, I enjoy the high drama and big themes, but the real reason I watch this show is for things like:

“You stabbed it seven times?”
“Five.”
“It’s SEVEN!”

And the exchange with Crowley. And woodchippers. That’s why I watch this show.

Kudos to Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loughlin, who brought back the fun, and to Jensen Ackles, who directed, and of course to Jim Beaver, who I would totally invite in for a shower and some ginger peach cobbler after he Fargoed any home intruder of mine.

Don’t forget the excahnge on the phone with teh FBI guy in the room - ‘mom’

Nice little paired callout to Drag Me to Hell: first, the boys’ monster-of-the-week was a Lamia, and then the cute neighbor woman asked Bobby if he’d ever seen the movie.

I don’t get it. I thought at first Jim Beaver must have been in Drag Me To Hell, but he wasn’t. What is the reference?

Possibly just a general reference to people being dragged to hell by hellhounds after selling their souls and their time is up.

Great ep! Kudos to Jim B. for his acting and to Jensen for his directorial debut (?).

In Drag Me to Hell, the monster in the movie is a Lamia.

Loved this episode. When Bobby is standing by the woodchipper looking at flirty neighbor covered in blood and says, “Maybe I can come over for dinner some time this week.” Reply, “I don’t think so.” I think it would have been funnier if she had said, “OK, sure. Call me.” But still really funny.

Also the bit on the phone when FBI agent was at the door and Bobby was giving the instructions for the potion and Dean was following them as Sam was being strangled in the background. “Roast over high heat.” and Dean throws it into the raging fire. Hilarious.

Sheriff, “I told him to wait outside because I thought you had something in here you didn’t want him to see.” Bobby: “I do. There’s a dead body in the basement. But there’s also a body buried in the yard.”

I’m with DianaG. The writers definitely need to bring back more of the fun.

“call the FBI!” hangs up phone

another phone rings “NOT ME THE REAL FBI!”

lol Bobby is so awesome.

And poor Gavin McLeod, dying at sea. He must’ve Loved his Boat.

When I heard that Fergus McLeod’s son was named Gavin, and he was captain of a boat, I looked at Jim and said, “Seriously?”

That was an awesome episode. I really wanted to hear Bobby tell us what was weird about Sammy, though.

I can’t believe that went right by me.

I finally got around to watching this! If I’m not careful, I’m going to lose my spot as the SDMB’s biggest Supernatural dork.

I liked it! I paid special attention to the directing, of course, and I thought it was very good. Very dark and lots of nice shadows. I kind of love the idea of the Winchesters being sort of guest stars in the drama of Bobby’s life. It was fun to see his perspective on things.

The wood chipper. Yeah, THAT’S the ridiculously gory and disgusting show I know and love.

Now, let’s just see if I can get around to watching tonight’s episode before they air the next one. Geez.
