Supernatural 4/23: "Jump the Shark"

How’s that for a great episode title?
In this one, a young fellow tells the Winchesters that he’s their brother.
I figure he’s just a mixed-up demon who doesn’t know who he really is. Or something.

Halfway done with it.

Adam is suitably dull. No was is he their actual brother. I’m guessing a demon, but maybe it’s another trick of the angels.

Aaaaand Adam isn’t their brother. But he is. But he’s not. Whatever, let’s just not mention it again.

Pretty good episode. Why is it that I’m so happy that an epsidoe called “Jump the Shark” ended with Sam having slit wrists? I’m starting to feel that Kripke is openly mocking the fanfiction.

The producers had some fun with this in the ep. that was very much like In the Mouth of Madness. I appreciate the fact that they are so aware of the shippers, slash fans, and other aspects of fandom.

Based on the description, I was dreading it a little. Pleasantly surprised with the result.

Sam is losing his fucking mind, y’all.

I like how the diner was called Cousin Oliver’s and the plot was about a younger relative (never before mentioned) turning up.

Were there any more reference to shark jumps of classic shows that anyone noticed?

Apparently there was a poster for the Fonzarelli Waterskiing Championship on the wall of the diner, but I didn’t catch that myself. Cousin Oliver had me giggling, though. As did the (unrelated to jumping sharks) game of Rock Paper Scissors, since it has previously been noted that Dean always throws scissors and always loses. Next time I bet he throws paper - just watching him crawl around in the vent made me feel anxious and claustrophobic.
