Dean is bitten by a vampire and, hopefully, much Twi-skewering ensues.
Great title!

“These aren’t vampires…they’re douchebags.”
“He’s watching her sleep…how is that not rapey?”
“Are you…wearing glitter?”
I like that for a moment, vampire Dean watched his girlfriend sleeping.
So is the leader(Father) of the vampires some kind of main storyline now?
I think it ties in with the ‘alpha monster’ theme, which I kinda like the idea of.
Is that what we are going with? Like the God of monsters or something?
I get that Lucifer was not God to monsters, since he hated other demons(or at least considered them worthless) and no one seemed to like him.
Are they suggesting monsters might have some kind of individual deity?
Oh, and was Dean seeing Raphael as the Alpha monster? That black guy he saw in his vision?
I don’t think so, I think they’re implying that (for reasons likely linked to the averted apocalypse) that the ‘original’ of each kind of monster is back and calling the shots. In the second episode, they theorized that the ‘alpha’ shifter was either breeding with or having his underlings breed with human women to make more shifters, and in this episode they outright said that the ‘alpha’ (or ‘father’, also used in both eps) had the vampires ‘recruiting’.
I don’t know…it might be that some demon is working with the firstborn of all the various monsters to try to take over in the power vaccuum.
So we have:
Heaven’s Angels Civil War
Sam’s odd actions since being resurrected(for the 2nd time).
Alpha Monsters building their numbers…for a Supernatural War?
And Sam just stood there for a while watching the blood flow as Dean was bitten. Expect lots of fallout from that. I see that Dean is finally confronting “Sam” next time about his identity and what happened to him.
Some great Twi-skewering!
I like the Alpha Monsters idea as well…I just wish they’d find some new thing to focus on besides Dean’s distrust of Sam. During the whole five year run, it seemed like it was only during the finale of season five that Dean said he would trust Sam. Of course, Sam’s earned that distrust many times over, but you could watch a Supernatural marathon on TV, make a drinking game out of how many times Dean is suspicious of Sam, and end up puking in the toilet quite a bit.
I got the impression Sam was letting Dean be the test subject for the Vamp “cure” but of course it’s tremendously reckless, and doubtless he could have found other “test subjects” to experiment on, plus there’s that little smile that Sam lets tug at the corner of his mouth…so what is he? Is he really Sam? Could he be the Alpha Shapeshifter? I’d guess that Alphas have extraordinary power and immunity to the usual methods of dealing with them, so maybe a silver knife wouldn’t do squat to an Alpha Shapeshifter.
I’m really hoping it’s NOT that Sam is still sharing a meatsuit with Lucifer. Much as I love the characterization, it’s time to move on, I think. In any case, I hope this storyline gets wrapped up quick and they find the “real” Sam so they can get back to hunting monsters.
Poor Dean. I don’t think anyone in the history of television gets beaten up as much as he does. He must have Wolverine’s healing factor to be able to even move after some of his beatdowns. I think he would’ve been OK with Lisa if he hadn’t shoved Ben, but maybe this is what finally gets him back to hunting full-time.
Did Samuel say that was his grandfather’s journal? He mentioned that there were Campbells beheading vampires on the Mayflower, how many family journals does he have, and how far back do they go? If it is the Alpha Monster show now, I can see how that collection of information down through centuries of hunters would be useful.
Kristen and Robert? :smack: I have to say, I half expected the girl was going to be a vampire and attack the guy instead of Mr. Hairy coming out to get her, but that’s probably just a Buffy flashback at work.
The look on Sammy’s face was the look of someone who was either enjoying what he was seeing, or someone whose plan was coming to fruition. One thing is sure - that is not the real Sammy. Alpha shapeshifter does sound like a good guess, but assuming the real Sam will come back from hell at some point, I’m not sure how that will play out.
The Twilight skewering was quite lovely.
My WAG is that it’s Sam but something is wrong or missing, like part of his soul. Although I would think Cas would notice something like that. And speaking of Cas, there’s not enough Cas this season.
I’d think that Cas would also notice that Sam isn’t Sam. After all, he noticed that Dean wasn’t Dean (at least not NOW Dean), and that was while he was a stoned former-angel. Again, I realize he’s preoccupied and all, but I really can’t buy that he wouldn’t be a little curious about the cosmic implications of Sam being back.
Maybe his distaste for Sam (he called him an “abomination” at one point) is clouding his view of what is wrong with Sam.
May I say, holy homosexual male deep, wet kiss? That was unexpected.
ETA: And no, it wasn’t Sam and Dean.
I think it was a smile of someone whose plan has come to fruition. Sam knew they needed a man on the inside to find out what was going on with the vamps. He also knew about the cure because Grandpa told him (though Sam played dumb later in the episode when Grandpa mentioned it) so he knew he could get Dean back to normal as long as Dean didn’t feed on a human.
All in all, still a dick move by Sam considering the torture his brother would have to go through to resist drinking human blood. But we know Sam is not the sentimentalist he used to be.
I also liked the “are you wearing glitter” line then Dean actually considers it when he finds out that it helps with the ladies.
I’m like a week behind - I finally watched it!
There is something deeply wrong with Sam. I do think that it really is Sam, but…something is missing. I agree that I hope Dean figures out what it is really soon because this will get annoying if it lasts all season.
I’m interested in this alpha monster plotline.
The Twilight jokes were pretty amusing. Loved Dean briefly considering the glitter.
The gay kiss was awesome.
Sam’s hair was very pretty.
All in all, I enjoyed it! A good episode.
