Meh. I can’t say I care that much about the product placement. I can’t recall ever having given it more than a roll of the eyes and a sarcastic remark to whoever I was watching with. (Though this week’s smart phone plugging definitley got a slightly longer eye roll than most.)
I honestly expected the phone to ring during the challenge and have everyone’s family members start calling. I guess they won’t play that card for another few weeks.
I love Salem’s theory about Russell putting on weight intentionally. It’s so in character that I can’t help but feel like there’s at least a grain of truth to it.
It’s not that crazy of a theory. I remember hearing a bunch of All-Stars saying they did that before their second season.

The best product placement is on Real World / Road Rules Challenge. (Which was awesome beyond words last episode.) Whenever they get instructions, they’re forced to announce on-camera that they’re getting a clue “on the T-Mobile Sidekick” or whatever. But they clearly find it annoying as shit, because they always ham it up to an insane degree. Like they’ll perk up in the fakest way possible and practically hyperventilate: “HEY GUYS, WE JUST GOT A CLUE ON OUR T-MOBILE SIDEKICK!!!” Funny as shit.
