Someone wins immunity to have it taken away from them.
Sabotage at camp Balboa.
Tension in the air, in-fighting at an all-time high…this is going to be a very good episode, well according to the hype machine that the previews are. If you have seen the latest preview, check out www.cbs.com they have a better preview than the one shown at the end of last week’s episode.
Oh and for those of you who forgot, this week’s ep is a day earlier. So don’t forget to set your timers properly, and don’t miss it… Man I should be getting paid by CBS for all this advertising I’m giving hehe.
The good thing about Rupert leaving is I hate everyone who is left, so I don’t care you gets voted out, it’s easier to enjoy the show that way. I think if they’re smart they’ll get rid of Burton, but I think it may be Christa.
And I am totally disapointed that TWoP has not done their episode review for last week yet. They’re falling behind.
Clearly, Jon is the perpetrator of the Big Lie. I can’t fathom it being anybody else. But I don’t think it becomes known yet. So long as Sandra and Christa realize that 2<3, and that adding Darrah and Tijuana makes the equation 4>3, I think Burton is on his way out tonight, with Jon as backup bootee.
The Big Lie is that Jon has his friend, who becomes part
of the “family reward challenge” to tell him that his grandmother had died, in order to gain sympathy from the other survivors.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the women band together and vote out the men; first Burton, then Jon if possible. Jon would be nice to keep around for the final vote, but Lil would do.
I’m pretty sure that last week, Sandra threw her vote away (to Jon) on purpose, and only pretended to be surprised/upset that Rupert was voted off. That way, if she makes it to the finals, she can still get Rupert’s vote because she didn’t vote for him. At the same time, she distanced herself from the Rupert/Christa alliance in the eyes of the rest of the tribe.
There’s a rumor afoot that Sandra and Jon have both been pulling off a HUGE coup, pretending to hate each other when in fact they’ve been working with one another this entire time.
I’m actively rooting for the women to join forces and boot the guys out, so I’m crossing my fingers for each immunity challenge. I think that would be fantastic.
I think that Sandra and Christa do realize they are not in the majority. Didn’t they try to approach Tijuana and Darrah a lot earlier to oust Rupert? It seemed that Darrah and Tijuana didn’t want anything to do with them. I thought about it again, when Burton approached them saying those three (Sandra, Christa and Rupert) think they have the end game locked up. Tijuana knew the alliance between those three wasn’t as tight as Burton thought.
Same thing when Darrah said she thought she was going home, until Burton approached her. She could have made an alliance a lot sooner. The comments from Sandra and Christa about T & D’s lack of initiative didn’t start until after they had turned down the female alliance, I think. Maybe they’ll change their minds, but I don’t hold out a lot of hope.
I really don’t care who wins, so much as, I don’t want Lil or Tijuana or Darrah to win. I’d like to see someone who didn’t lay around or have the game dictated to them, as a winner. If that means Jon, I’d still be happy with the outcome.
It would be interesting, but I can’t see how they could manage it. The cameras are there all the time, following them around constantly. Whenever two or three of them wander off, a cameraguy goes with them, just in case of something like that.
If they did manage something like this, it’s been really subtle. They must have had some REALLY quiet whisperings going on that no one (not even producers or cameramen) picked up on.
I’ve seen the previews that show lots of gasping from Sandra and Tijuana, and a “big lie” and the immunity being stripped away, but did I miss something about the sabotage at the camp? I don’t recall seeing that at all!
Fifteen minutes! I’ve been working my ass off for Thanksgiving dinner and I’m exhausted. I think I’ll have a beer with Survivor tonight.
Well, I think Christa and Sandra blew it. They had a chance to get rid of Burton–the strongest competitor–and they didn’t. What’s more, they really screwed Darrah over by getting her and Tijuana to vote against Burton, when they themselves changed plans and voted out T.
Damn it! I was hoping they’d get rid of Burton, then Jon, then Lil.
Sandra was pretty scummy in letting Christa take the rap for the fish.
The game pivoted on Christa and Sandra’s final decision. How you go from being the two weakest, to having a legitimate shot at removing the strongest and having a new alliance to, as Tangent suggested, screw over the remaining two women (Lil is not a woman) is beyond me.
Oh, to try and answer my own question:
Smart - Outwitted everyone right out of a reward challenge. Granted, the personal reward was pretty empty - no food, no luxury, no personal gain. It did however weaken everyone else by putting them outside of shelter and food for 24 hours.
Scummy - Well Christ on a hot tin roof, a dead grandma?!?
I don’t understand how Jon’s big lie helped him, other than to get a little pity from the others.
Sandra was my favorite from day one, even when she was worshiping Lord Rupert, but she lies so much it makes me dizzy. I think I would trust Jon more than her.
Wow. Jon is the shrewdest cat to ever set foot on an island. Damn, what a move. Very scummy, but the smartest thing he could do at that point…unless he does something dumb like tell Burton it was a sham.
In any case, good episode. They really should’ve given Burton the boot this time. I have the feeling that Christa and Sandra just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Probst has already said that none of the other contestants knew about the Big Lie until it aired. I have a feeling that the reunion show is not going to be comfortable for Jon, the degree of discomfort depending on whether he uses the “grandma sympathy” to get ahead in other areas than the reward challenge.
